killing him now has a little use..it will bring revenge from Qaida because the problem is not solved from the roots! I think the hope is that without Bin Laden (or the other high ranking members of Al Qaeda that have been captured or killed) their future terrorist attacks will be smaller and less successful. But you're right that this doesn't mean the problem has gone away.

That's nothing. I found out through bad jokes being made about it in my Facebook feed. BAUT had a thread, and then here. And, yes, people I know on Facebook. Including one old friend who is both older than I am and remarkably politically naive in some ways who's got a petition up to Bring the Troops Home Now. Which specifically says not to send letters, because Facebook petitions are more effective, apparently. Sigh. I will say the comment which got the BAUT thread locked was actually funny--that Donald Trump would want to see the long form death certificate.

He is dead. the photo is his..but killing him now has a little use..it will bring revenge from Qaida because the problem is not solved from the roots! The only purpose in letting him live would have been to bring him to trial in the U.S. While that would have been preferable to me, Bin Laden had ample time and resources to seek justice to defend his actions and refute claims made against him, if he had chosen to do so. Instead the army brought the justice to him. Letting him live out his life as a criminal on the lam without pursuit was simply not possible. And if revenge comes, then there will be more criminals to catch. There are likely a number of senior al Qaeda executives that are glad he is gone. I wonder if it will be the start of a fracturing of the organization.

My understanding is that it was getting pretty fractured already.

Get ready for Osama wasn't killed conspiracy up the ass now. It's great they finally got him and after I was in part upset about his actions on Sept.11 this feels pretty good and a little weird for him to be killed this week! Hopefully they release the death pic soon to shut everyone up would be really nice!

They have not said if they were going to release it yet or not! Let me say though I did not even have to perform any analysis on it cause it was the worst photoshop I have ever seen. I could do better work when I was drunk!

That's what I would think. As soon as you see one officially released by the federal government then I imagine it will stand the tests of scrutiny. I work a real death video and photo website as well that gets a ton of sensitive photos leaked to us. I'm sure as soon as one comes available I'll know and link whoever wants to see it.

From the TV reports the photo wold not be a pretty one. True enough but even if it is not released it will be leaked soon enough I almost put any money on it. I have seen crime scene photos of Chris Farley, David Carradine, and others that were never supposed to be released...power of the press and I am sure someone on that boat or wherever took some snaps they shouldn't have!! It is only a matter of time until they surface!
