As Rich Cohen said in Vanity Fair (May 2004), "To [conspiracy] theorists, there is no misspeaking, only disinformation." Just as there are no coincidences, only correlations.

I no longer understand what is going on. Nevermind. This is what young Vincent wrote me today: I left the Apollohoax.garbage forums because everyone there seems to just be very hostile. Bunch of dicks if you ask me. I actually apologized for using the term "propagandist" but they just assault me more. I'm not gonna waste my time with trolls and mental incompetents like them Thank you for your concerns. -Vincent

What appears to be happening is that vincentmcconnell is so eager to say anything which appears to cast some sort of uncertainty or doubt on Apollo that he will reflexively trumpet the most innocuous remark or circumstance as some sort of evidence for his position.
But in his eagerness, he keeps shooting himself in the foot. Here, in order to bolster his claim that it was too hard for man to successfully land on the Moon, he's alleging that we did something much harder - successfully landing on Mars. It's like saying that you couldn't pass high-school trigonometry by pointing to your PhD in mathematics.

It's pretty clear that Cernan just misspoke. Buzz Aldrin is in favor of Americans going to Mars as he has spoken out on the topic. Cernan was simply saying that Buzz wants to go to Mars - as in American going to Mars, not Buzz personally - and he accidentally inserted the word "back". No big deal.

So it's the usual dust-cloud approach. Throw up a bunch of stuff and hope some of it sticks. Don't worry if most of it is contradictory.
Like his jump argument...it was hoaxed because he didn't go high enough, and because he was obviously "on a wire." Err...so why couldn't they go higher on the wire? They did in all his examples!

Ah, I just read rob260259's post.
trolls and mental incompetents like them
So vincentmcconnell flounces off huffily into the sunset with the following track record: - saying we couldn't have gone to the Moon even though we went to Mars; - one touting of a YouTube video; - insisting that one hoax believer didn't post an "email" on a Yahoo! forum, although he actually did (and it wasn't an "email" anyway) - claiming that a dead link was evidence of a NASA coverup, somehow missing with his mad reasearch skilz that the correct link was only two posts later in the thread, and could also be found in seconds with a simple search.
Good time to declare victory over those meanies and move on, no?

Maybe LO should ban him just to make sure he's not tempted to "waste his time" here anymore.
Edit: this is idle speculation, not a "threat."

No, I am strongly against that. He hasn't really done anything wrong according to the terms of this board. He should be allowed to gather up his courage, come back, and engage with the critics of his claims.
This board isn't and shouldn't be like BAUT, which is so tightly moderated that hoax threads hardly even get off the ground anymore.

I don't want him banned if he comes back and engages in the discussion ongoing in the two threads he's already started. However, if he comes back and spams the site with a link to another video while abandoning what he's already started, then I think he should be banned as a spammer. This forum is for discussion, not to advertise ones videos with seagull posts.

He could come back and learn something. Sounds like a plan to me. Starting with the jump.

I'll have a box of tissues ready, in case us "dicks" give him more of a prodding. At least the tears can be dealt with quickly.

Yes, it's much more likely it's a conspiracy than to believe that one of the two possibilities following are the case: (1) Cernan misspoke "Mars" for "Moon", or (2) Cernan meant, "Buzz wants to go back into space again, this time to Mars". Or maybe even... (3) Cernan meant to say "back to Mars" in the sense that we've been there with robots, and now it's time to go there with humans.

I don't think he made a mistake at all.....just a matter of context.
