For anyone reading, if you are new to this forum, I would like to share my story on being converted from a hoax believer to an Apollo Program supporter. I have been called a "shill", "liar", "troll", and many others, but even Jarrah White has not once called me a "Propagandist"
About four years ago, while I was in sixth grade, I was introduced to the Apollo Hoax Theory. I found it so interesting that I did research for days with the die-hard opinion that man had never walked on the moon. I debated it at school with science teachers, my family and all of my friends. For a while, my interest in waving flags and shadows died down and I rarely brought up Apollo unless someone spoke about it. I would reply with, "That was all fake." or "They hoaxed it".
Well in Ninth grade, my Freshman year in High school, this was late 2010, we watched Apollo 13 in Science Class. It was my first time seeing the film, and, to prove I knew very little about Apollo, I wasn't even sure what ended up happening to the mission in the end. Did they survive? Did they die? Even after this time I was still just getting to learn the names of the astronauts I believed hoaxed the landings. The name Buzz Aldrin was still unknown to me.
As time went on, I started to slowly-but-surely lose interest in the Apollo program. It wasn't until late December that I came upon something you'll all recognize...
MOONFAKER: Shifting Stars PART 1.
For some reason, I had Bart Sibrel and Jarrah White confused, but only for about a day. Needless to say, Jarrah was a huge influence on my Apollo beliefs. All throughout the beginning of the year, from about December to April, Apollo was my biggest interest (aside from the Marines). I kept fake lunar regolith and built a miniature moon set in my darkened downstairs closet and would take fake lunar pictures (many of which I still have and can upload). They weren't very good, but I had a lot of fun. I started to learn everything about Apollo. I knew about TLIs, astronauts, CAPCOMs, LEMs and CSMs. I knew about A7L's and A7LB's, LRVs, Landing Sites and Core-samples. At the time, I hadn't even turned 15 yet.
I started to make cheesy hoax videos in the style of Jarrah. Narration over video and photos. This is where my start in the youtube Apollo Hoax Conspiracy Theory community began. Astrobrant2 was the first to really start going against my videos with others. I was in one of the two sides now. I was a Moon Hoax Believer. The "Propagandists" talked about me, made videos about me and went as far as to call me, "Little- Jawa". I felt like nothing could ever convince me they walked on the moon.
Then my doubts started to settle in. How hard would it be to fake all of this? I ended up watching a video by LunarTuner called, "Apollo 11: Fingerprints in Deep Space". It convinced me about half-way. I was on my way to being converted to an Apollo supporter and defender. One night, in the middle of July, I stayed up until about 5:00AM running through the ALSJ. I watched videos of Apollo 17 on youtube, downloaded nearly all of the Apollo 11 telecast and DAC footage. When I realized how all of the objects, including the dust, moved in accordance with properties only found on the moon, I was converted. Over the course of about a month, my doubts about the hoax theory grew and grew. My switch was slow but effective.
Before I had converted, a hoaxer named "NASAvsPETE" had "converted". Many Apollo believers began to say, "Maybe you can convert a hoaxer."
It turns out, as we approach January, somewhere around one year of Apollo interest for me, NASAvsPETE never really converted at all. It was all a lie and a trick. The man was and still is mentally unstable.
So is it true? Am I actually one of the only Moon Hoax believers to "see the light"? Sometimes I think it would be a rare occurrence to ever see a hoaxer convert again.
That's my story on how I switched and how I plan for 2012 to be just as Apollo-y as the last. To all of you "Bill Nye the Science Guy's" have a happy new year and let this be a good one. We have some hoaxers to smash.
So I finish with a closing statement, "Yes, they did."
