edit to add...and welcome to the board, The Third Man. Thank you very much. I think it is customary to declare sides when joining? I have no doubt at all that the moon landings are real, and I cannot understand how anyone could think otherwise. I do not know if I can contribute much to the mission of the board though. I am good with maths, but other than that, I probably cannot help too much. But if there are times when I can, I will. I still cannot access the links from the page as originally posted, but with Ginnie's new link, everything is good now. I do not understand the problem, but since everything works with the other link, I will not worry too much.

You don't have to be an expert to contribute. I'm probably the least expert member here, but I'm finding that some of the HB claims are the result of such false basic assumptions that debunking them is a more a matter of basic research. For instance, though my knowledge is limited, I can think of a few posts where I've actually contributed, such as: -taking my camera out and taking pictures of non-parallel shadows www.webhome.look.ca/~gninuopk/images/parallel2.jpg-showing the difference of shadowed areas on light and dark surfaces i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb184/ginniegatrit/saltofthemoon.jpg-showing examples of low tech ingenuity apollohoax.proboards21.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=theories&thread=1187380369&page=1-showing reflections of sun in astronauts visors apollohoax.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=theories&action=display&thread=1194654297&page=3#1195614257These are the sort of stuff that anybody can do, but HB seem to have a reluctance to research further than YouTube. A lot of the debunking involves finding evidence that clearly dismisses the HB claims, and most of it is available on the web. BobB has forgotten more about rocket technology than I'll ever know. I've found that even though most of my 'research' is material that a lot of members are already aware of, it increases my own knowledge of the Apollo missions. Like by 1000% since I've joined, and I'm still just scratching the surface. So most of all, enjoy youself and browse through previous threads to get an idea of what's happening here. I really respect the forum members for their patience and knowledge. And don't make any spelling mistakes... ;D (you'll find out why later, I'm sure!)

Aha, there's the problem. The page was apparently copied from www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/a14/ to workingonthemoon.com/A14venus/, but all the links on the page are in the format of ../page.html, and none of the linked pages exist on workingonthemoon.com (yet).

The best tools around here are sharp eyes and an inquisitive, thoughtful brain. Domain-specific expertise helps, but only to some extent.

Excellent finding Data Cable. It was a pleasure reading the whole thread from initial faulty claim to the inevitable flame out. Interesting side note, Jarrah White has produced a video and included these same photos of Venus in as evidence of a hoax! Check out his two part video "Shifting Stars" www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lV1x0dMvIcwww.youtube.com/watch?v=DdI1WpHEf10The bit about Venus starts about 8 minutes in. He only examines two of the photos, is unable to get them to match up, and concludes that they won't match up because the photos are faked. Of course it never occurs to him that his failure to get them to match up is his own failure, and he certainly never acknowledges that others have managed to match not only two of them up, but the whole sequence of nine.
