Attention all Europe based folk:
Pro7 the German channel is putting Kaysing's claims to the test. From their website (sorry its in german) Waren wir wirklich auf dem Mond?
Essentially the plug states Kaysings argument and the Gallileo team put the claims to the test. The promo I saw yesterday seems to be made from the Jay experiments done in the desert. They are crafting in a manner to lure the viewers via the conspiracy aspect, to then wallop them with a bit of science to completely debunk Kaysing. At least that's how it appears.

I'm excited to hear about this. Several months ago I was contacted by a German production company requesting an interview. We had tentatively arranged to meet in Washington D.C. in autumn 2006 to conduct the interview, but the conversation ended with the ball in their court to suggest a date. If this is the same company, it appears they have chosen to go ahead without my direct involvement. I hope you'll report on how the program fares.

Is calling Bill Kaysing "Insider of the moon landing programs and contemporary witness," part of the lure? I think that's what the German says, anyway.

Yes Jason, that's what it says. Given Gallileo is a program that is a science based interest program, I seriously doubt they'll go all hoaxy on us. The snippets of non-Nasa material showed a man sitting at a desk looking at several pictures with shadows, which looked very much like the YT snippets of the show with Jay in it. It also showed a night desert shot, and as there are no deserts in Germany, I'm certain it was shot in the USA. I'm fairly certain it's the same material/similar shoot. Jay, I can make a DVD of it and send you a PAL copy for your records. PM your addy and I'll try my best!

I have seen the trailer, and from the few scenes it looks like they are going to use the documentary with Jay I saw in the UK (you know, the one where he went into the desert with a big honkin' space lamp and a Hasselblad camera and the fake astronaut...).

Jay, the way they do it here is to have you mixed low in the background while a German announcer translates what you say. Occassionally there is a bit of "lost in translation" but for the most part its fairly spot on. Very rarely they have subtitles, but you never know. On friday I'll know for sure...

You know you're a star when you get dubbed into foreign languages. Congrats, Jay!
The only milestone left is a Jay Windley action figure.

Heh, I auditioned once singing "Haben Sie Gehört Das Deutsche Band?" from The Producers. I have horrible visions of some kid pulling a string out of my back and that song coming out.

It comes as an accessory ... and if you buy the deluxe model they throw in a miniature fake astronaut as well.

It'd go great along with the Phil Plait action figure (with anti-antiscience action!), James Randi action figure ($1 million not included), and Buzz Aldrin (complete with Bart Sibrel-knockout action!)!
This is the stuff they ought to sell!
