Thanks to everyone who offered advice about the laptop a few weeks ago. In case you were wondering, I ended up doing a system restore. Cheap trick, but hey, it worked.
Now for some tax trivia, seeing as how this forums full of rocket scientists and 'legal experts', I thought this would be a good place to ask.
Is it true that you don't have to file an extension if you don't owe on your taxes? I heard this earlier but it seemed a little odd to me.

You need to file your return or an extension by the 17th. My project for the weekend...

I am not an accountant but I think the following is true.
If you need to file a return even though you owe no money and can’t do it by Monday then file an extension. If you did not earn enough money to be required to file a return then don’t worry about it. An extension is relatively fast and easy to file. Doing so will not hurt and will save you penalties for late filing.
