We are against Israel, but we can't withstand the price of fighting for all arabs. I find this attitude very distributing. Under this attitude, there will never be peace in the Middle East because the Arabs will refuse affirm Israel's right to exist. The Palestinians will never get a proper homeland because the Palestinian areas will be a battleground between Israel and its opponents. The fighting will continue. You have shown many of the more ardent pro Israel supporters to be correct that the country needs to be constantly vigilant because the Arabs are bent on the country's destruction. But at least I know where you stand.

You can't really blame her - lionking is from a country where the very air is anti-semetic and the cult of victimhood is the major religion (not Islam).
Why are we poor? Israel and the United States.
When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad it's Israel and the U.S.'s fault.
Certainly the state controlled media there won't put the blame on their own leaders.

echnaton the argument was given for hizbollah that we are not against the palestinian rights. but I hope you read the call for peace in the thread I gave you. It is a strategy that acknowledges peace with Israel and its right to exist if palestinians were given their rights and the lands were given back to arabs. Israel has no argument against it. America wants that too.
It is laughable that we are anti-semitic or anti jewish bcz we are semetic and there are arab jews. we are against zionism.
back to you echnaton as I said , it is not applicable to fight Israel and no arab moderate state, including this gov, want to fight it. However, you can't come and tell this to Hizb. They will consider you a traitor immediately. The scenario that arabs will come together and fight Israel is so farfeched, so unapplicable. Israel has to go with peace therefore, America puts its hands in ours bcz they know it is for the benefit of everybody that there is peace that 14 march group calls for. Trust me they know their benefits better. They know that the statement of war with Israel will not happen and no one wants to fight. Besides, arabs declared they don't want war, like Egypt. Perhaps Lebanon can't state currently except that "IF arabs came together and faught, we will fight" bcz of Hizb. Hizb itself doesn't take it seriously from us. They know that our strategy and big title is: GETTING LEB ASIDE FROM COUNTRIES BENEFITS AND FIGHTING FOR THEM.
This is the main theme. and if Israel refuses the hand that is being givne to it bySinioura, it is Israel then that will trigger Syria to fight back to get he Golan, and the Palestinians to continue to fight for their rights. It will be justified for Hizb and its likes to continue fighting. I hope you understand better now that we are no threat for anyone.
edit: you might want to read what the Prime Minister Fuoad A-Sanioura said:

and this is what exactly 14 march is against. They put a lot of blame on Hizb, as they put on Israel. Again, remember that they are against Hizb's weapons, against fighting for any country from within Lebanon. Remember again that they are supported from the U.S so much. why would that be the case if their agenda is an agenda of war and not peace?
tell you the truth, even if ALL arabs wanted to fight Israel, I don't think they will enter the war. The call for Syria is to free its lands without our help. We have declared that we are ready to help the arab cause politically and peacefully, through our relationships with America. I think you don't get the temperature here bcz you don't read much about 14 march and internal conflicts with hizb. 14 March is everything needed for minimizing the pressure of hizb. it is like Saudi Arabia and Egypt and Jordan. It doesn't actaully plan in 1% to remove Israel from existence, and know that they can't. However, we can't proclaim ourselves as a country that wants normal economical relations with Israel. We just want to live in peace.

Thank you Lionking, that is more clear. I know those who propose peace in Lebanon walk a fine line between the factions that want war and those that make accusations of being accommodative to Israel for political gain. Unfortunately, there are those not on the front lines of the conflict that want others to fight for them, putting Lebanon in the way.

As if this weren't outrageous enough already, the series ended on June 29th, and Farfour the mouse was beaten to death by a Jew who had been trying to buy his land. "Farfour was martyred while defending his land," said Sara, the teen presenter. He was killed "by the killers of children," she added. No doubt he found seventy virgin mice waiting for him in paradise. Link: www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/06/29/hamas.mouse.ap/index.html

Lionking, I'm not sure what your opinion is. Are you saying that if all the Arab nations agreed to go to war with Israel, that then you would support a Lebanese involvement?
I'm so glad that Canada did not support the United States when they invaded Iraq! We were under a lot of pressure from the U.S. Government at the time - they hate it when Canada doesn't go along with their foreign policy. George Bush seems to have a dislike for Canada anyway. Even though during 9/11 we let all the planes in the air land at Canadian airports, even though we sent relief workers - firemen, construction workers, monetary aid and Blackberries (which proved to be invaluable for communications) to New York after the attack, even though we sent troops to Afghanistan (and they are still there), even though we've been a close friend of the U.S. for the last 100 years, even though we had U.S. airbases on our soil since World War II, even though Canadian Troops fought on Juno Beach on D-Day, even though we were a haven for Vietnam draftdogers (well the U.S. weren't happy about that at the time), even though we are the biggest trading partner of the U.S., Bush ignores past history and gets p*ssed off because we didn't support him on the Iraq issue. There were many speeches made by Bush after 9/11 and Canada's efforts were ignored in almost all of them. The U.S. media made many references after 9/11 suggesting that Canada was to blame for some of the terrorists activity in the U.S. by having a weak immigration and border policy, even though the 9/11 terrorists learned how to fly in schools in Florida (in the U.S.). We are looked upon as a meek country by some U.S. media outlets, unable to stand up for their version of democracy. Tell that to the brave Canadians who fought at Vimy Ridge (where Saskatchewan farmers had success in using and fixing the big guns because of their experience in fixing their farm machinery back hom ), Paschendale, the Somme, the debacle at Dieppe and D-Day. Canada declared war on Germany in 1914. The U.S. in 1917. Out of a population of 8 million, we had 620,000 troops mobilized and had 241,000 casualties (67,000 killed). Canada declared war on Germany in 1939. The U.S. in 1941. Canadians fought in the Korean War. We supported our Allies for the right causes, but we also stand up and say 'NO' to things we don't believe in - thus we have a reputation as a peacekeeping nation, not warmonger. You would expect us to be more careful because we could be swallowed up economically by the U.S., but we stick to our beliefs. We are known as a 'Multi-Cultural' nation, where immigrants can hold on to their customs and beliefs. America is the 'melting pot' where you are encouraged to shed your former culture and become American. As a people though, Canadians get along famously with Americans. We have close cultural, economic and historical ties. You would probably not be able to tell us apart - except for the odd difference in some accents. Some American students traveling through Europe sew patches of Canadian flags on their backpacks so they will be treated better.... All that being said, Canada and the United States still are very close allies and friends, despite the current American Administration. If the Democrats get in the next U.S. election in 2008, then the tide will shift a little once again.

More on the MouseA Hamas television station that last week killed off a Mickey Mouse lookalike who urged children to fight against Israel will use other famous characters to further their Islamist agenda, station officials have said.
