Folks I'm going to be off the list for a little while. I'm having an operation on Tuesday which will have me in hospital for about a week, and off work for about a month. The operation will involve the removal of a small section of intestine scarred by Crohn's Disease. I look forward to seeing you all on the list when I return.
Take care, everyone.

Me again. Just a quick g'day to let you know that all's well.
The operation was intended to last 2 or 3 hours, but actually went for 6 hours, as the surgeon kept finding diseased intestine. I got out of hospital last Friday, and I'm going to be taking it easy for the next few weeks. As a result, I probably still won't get in here that often.
My thanks to the staff of the ward I was in - they were a wonderful bunch of people, doctors, nurses, cleaners, kitchen staff, all of them.

All the best, Peter. Just last night I directed a Brisbane rellie to one of the old Baut threads www.bautforum.com/showthread.php?p=101743#post101743and said "Peter B there is a good bloke from Canberra." Never thought to say "a slightly lighter good bloke from Canberra."

Pete,
When you feel inclined... we have our own SSSF wiki now.
On the weekend, I'm going to start on the "Apollo Hoax" section. Look forward to your input!
Cheers Bud!

G'day everyone, and thanks for your kind wishes. Still only able to get to the computer irregularly.
The scars are healing well, though it feels a bit numb under the main scar (about as long as my middle finger). I'm off to see the surgeon next Friday, and I'll probably be back at work part-time shortly after that.
