Tomorrow, TS (and possibly hurricane) Fay pays me a visit.
This will mark the fourth storm I've weathered so far.
The others, in order, were Andrew, Wilma, and Ernesto.
Given the relative weakness of this storm, I think I can breath easier with this one's arrival, although it is enough of a concern that class is canceled for my school tomorrow (it's not a public school, but a technical institute). First time this has happened since I've been there.
My main concern is that some tornadoes may spawn, given we're in the north eastern quadrent.
So, anyone else around here sharing the fun?

Eduard passed over us here in Houston recently. It was no big deal. Many people stayed home so my drive into work was easy. It turned out to be nothing more than an all day rain storm. But do take the usual precautions just in case the weather is really bad.
Good luck.

I was thinking about CBBs claims for a while, Jason! Great minds think alike.
It hasn't been much so far. Seems only now, at 6:50pm ET, that the real stuff has arrived.
I sort of feel cheated, mostly because school was canceled because of this storm. I sort of hoped that the events would justify it.
Of all things, I've mostly occupied my time by watching my newly arrived "Star Trek TOS Remastered Season 2" DVDs.

Glad your OK. Stay dry!
The rain today was worse that we had from Edouard. The weather folks said it was related to Fay, or at least to the currents that were steering Fay. It really pounded the part of town I live in. Around noon some streets were flooded and one low lying apartment parking lot had some flooded cars. I was happy to have a pick up truck.

You're in Texas, aren't you Echnaton?
It seems likely that it's the steering currents that are moving Fay that are effecting you guys.
Only today has the wind and rain picked up, though it is on again, off again. The storm is about 30 miles SE of Daytona Beach. It looks like it may cut across N. Florida into the Gulf.
Sure is a slow storm, I'll tell you that!

Fay is certainly an odd storm. Crossing back and fourth over Fl. Now its crossing back to the Gulf? very strange. The hurricane forecasters must be pulling their hair out and contemplating careers changes.
I just looked at the current prediction. It is not out of the realm of possibility that Fay could track along the Gulf Coast and reach Houston.

I would think the weather-control tesla coils would prevent that.

I sure could use some.
Fay is causing flooding in several counties. And it's moving sloooooow.
Some of those weather control, Tesla coils would sure come in handy.
I agree, Echanton, Fay is sure weird. I never knew a tropical storm could cause so much trouble.

They frequently cause more rain than the more powerful storms, because they move slowly and have this habit of stalling near the coast. My friend that lived in Melbourne is certainly glad to be elsewhere now.
