No, this isn't about the "Star Trek" episode of the same name. In the mail, we recieved the DVD entilted 'Obsession', which discussions the issues with radical Islam. Has anyone else seen this DVD? If so, what is your assesment of it? How much is fact, and how much is hype? Our local paper noted the timing of the mailing out of the DVD close to election time. It doesn't change my view.

This is the first time I've heard of it. Apparently it was distributed in the "swing" states for this election by a non profit group. It is also causing quite a stir with some calling it hate mongering propaganda. Others view it as a warning of things the dangers of radical Islam and not a indictment of all Moslems.
It is on YouTube, at least in part, so I'll have to check it out there.

I got one too, and was immediately freaked out by the Fnord graphics on the package. I googled the sender, "the clarion fund" and found several blogs and other references to people discussing it.
Seems they're a 501c3 (is that right?) non-profit, but they don't let anyone know who the board of directors is. They got in a spot of trouble recently for crossing the political-opinion line in their supportive statements about McCain.
Another source suggests that they're a pro-Israel right wing group.
I haven't watched the video yet, might later. Or not. Badly executed propaganda tends to irritate me.

That was the impression I got from the DVD; badly executed propaganda. Especially when it involves clips from "Faux news".
