I'm pleased to announce the first release of the Apollo 9 Flight Journal. This was a great test flight and I'm very happy to have been given the opportunity to work on the Flight Journal. The journal currently has the merged transcripts for the first day: launch, transposition and docking, the first SPS test burn and a star sighting test. More detailed journal commentary is planned. Any comments or feedback is appreciated.

Woo hoo! Andrew Vignaux, Apollo Historian, world famous, and not just in New Zealand! Well, perhaps not yet, huh? (It's okay folks, there's a jokey saying, "World famous in New Zealand" which means Kiwis think something is great, but nobody in the rest of the world has ever heard of it.)
How are you guys doing the Apollo 9 Flight Journal? From the work I did amalgamating Apollo 11 transcripts (I recently sent the results to David Woods), I figured that to do a really good job I needed to listen to the tapes to ensure the typists had the right person talking, which they didn't do every time, and I'd also have to read the transcripts very carefully at the same time and hope I understood all the jargon enough to pick up any errors.
It's a pity that one of the Apollo 11 transcripts on the internet is an uncorrected roughie. I have two books that were written in 1969 and don't have the same errors, so a better transcript was obviously released soon after.
I also thought it a pity you don't state the PAO's names in the A9FJ. I believe they deserve full credit for their input because without them at the time we would have hardly had a clue what was going on. When listening to the Apollo 11 powered descent and landing on the radio as it happened I understood some of the transmission from the moon, but very much needed the PAO's comments to be completely clear.

Thanks Andrew, that was a great read. Some choice quotes in there, and I felt bad about myself snickering at their urinating problems.
