I've started this thread over at BAUT also... ---------------------------------------------------- Those are great pics the LRO are returning, and even better ones to come. If anybody is up to it, and has time to spare perhaps scanning over those hi res pics looking for other objects on the moon would be fun. Depending on how some of them crashed, they might have left large impact sites that would show up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objects_on_the_moonralphaeschliman.com/luna/lnslamasm.jpgWho'll be the first here to find something? Luna 2 or Ranger 8 for instance... One degree is about 30.36 km. Apollo 11 landed at 0.40'26 N 23.28 E Ranger 8 impacted at 2.72 N 24.61 E, so they're not that far apart. We'll need more pictures first though. I'm trying to find more LRO images to scan. What I'd like to do is to take those huge LRO scans and put co-ordinates on them to make it easier to find things - it sure would be a lot easier. Alas, I can't even open a 100mb tiff on my computer!
