The latest product I'm working on has been banned in Australia for being too gory.

The Australian Christian Lobby has already asked for the planned 'blacklist' to be expanded to all adult / R18 sites after 3 years.
I am not adult enough to decide what is acceptable or not acceptable for me to see. At 46 years of age and over 20 years of Defence service, I apparently need a nanny.

That is both outrageous and doomed to failure. Outrageous in that it inserts a requirement for government aproval for content in the media that people are rapidly choosing to be their primary source of information. Doomed in that it is technologically unwieldy, look at the troubles they have had with it in China. It appears to me to be a part of this growing movement that sees the government, not ourselves, as being primarily responsible for our safety and well being.

I would love to help protest, but I don't see why the Australian Prime Minister should consider the opinion of a single nobody American.

If enough of us protest, will he just block emails from the US, practicing censorship on himself?

It probably wouldn't take many protest from people to ban a site - I was at a major (think W) superstore today and a worker told me that they don't play the Christmas songs like other years because some customers complained of the word "Christmas" in them... Thus I had to work for hours at this account listening to a fake Christmas-sort-of-ish Muzak - no vocals and was bad enough to drive me crazy.

I can pretty much guarantee you that it's full of crap, though; they get far more complaints for avoiding the word "Christmas" (look and see how many places it appears in-store) than they do for using it.
