Anyone who thinks that Neil Armstrong never does interviews and never discussed the moonwalk of Apollo 11, he is speaking right now in fron of a live TV audience on Austria's "Servus TV". He will be on for another hour at least. You may be able to stream the program here: www.servustv.com/cs/Satellite/EPG-TV-Programm/001259088496194?p=1259088496182click on the picture and it will stream (at least it does for me)

I got this carousel thingie, but there's a red button saying "ServusTV live sehen" that activates the program. At least for me. There's a German guy talking over Armstrong though (something common in German speaking countries when it comes to live interviews).
EDIT: Oh wow, Alexey Leonov is also there.

BertL you got it. In Germany and Austria they will speak over the foreign speaker but you can usually hear what they are saying. If you also understand german you wind up jumping from following english and german. One of the best interview situations I have seen Neil in.

I agree - these are some rare moments I'm glad I learned that pesky language in high school.

Quite far, I'm afraid - I live on Wieringen, which is at the other end of the Netherlands.
EDIT: One of the German speaking experts just spoke about the limited capabilities of Apollo's board computer. A free translation of what he roughly said: "It's true that modern computers have far more processing power than the Apollo computer. But the Apollo computer was so good at what it did that it didn't need to have more power.

I see. You forget though that I'm Australian, which means for me "the other side of the Netherlands is still less distance than driving across the state of New South Wales... This is a really cool interview. I might see if I can do some english subs for it.

"The Apollo board computer couldn't do as much as modern computers, but what it could do it did so well the mission was successful."

HA!! The subject of fakery was brought up and the audience reaction gave it the best response it should have gotten. They laughed out loud at the absurdity of the proposition.

What a good way for Mr. Armstrong to spend his birthday.

There's a streaming version on the website (near the top right under the "Demnächst im TV") is a link to Talk im Hangar-7. Click it and you should be able to watch the whole show. This link will probably expire pretty soon, but it hasn't been uploaded to the Mediathek yet.

It will be repeated in at 02:05 Central European Time and you should be able to stream it (that is roughly 20 minutes from me posting this). If you miss it it will be repeated on Sunday at 09:55 CET
Click on the menu "TV PROGRAM"
then click on "ServusTV live sehen"
and it should stream (you can start watching the channel now)
