Some nice bridges there. Here is a picture of a local favorite, the Fred Hartman Bridge over the Houston Ship Channel in La Porte, Texas.

Local landmark at the home of bridge-building (Teesside was responsible for the Tyne Bridge and Sydney Harbour Bridge among others). The Transporter Bridge (below) was the subject of a UK comedy (Auf Weidersehn Pet) a few years ago, in which a group of builders dismantled the bridge and reassembled it somewhere in America.

I'm disappointed there hasn't been posted a photo of this one... The Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam.

I like the Erasmus bridge. The cable stayed bridges seem to be the fashion of the day. It certainly gives the designer much more freedom to create sculpture than steel framed or suspension.

There are lots of pretty bridges out there, but I guess I'm a bit old school; I like the looks of the old suspension bridges. Maybe as time goes on I'll warm up to the cable stayed modern structures, but I think the most beautiful bridge I've ever seen is the Golden Gate in San Francisco.

WOW. Nice bridges. Phanom, the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel and the old bridge site don't show. other bridges are very nice, specially the one posted by bazbear

The Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel reminds me of a roller coaster at Six Flags over Texas in Arlington, TX. When riding it you come over a hill then plunge toward the water and enter a tunnel. the site lines keep you guessing until the last second.
The Golden Gate bridge is a classic and the setting makes it better. it is simply beautiful.
