Both video and still shots were taken at many different places, and the actual video's were indeed shot in remote desert locations many years before the actual mission dates.

One of the places chosen by NASA and the USGS, was Chezin Chotah in the Hopi Butte volcanic field.

The USGS (United States Geological Society) were heavily involved in assisting NASA to perfect the fake Moon scenario's, after all they were being funded by none other than NASA.

(Split boulders are either caused by boulder falling from a rocky crag, or ingress of moisture which later freezes and expands. Neither of these are possible on the Moon.)

The picture shown below is just such a test at Chezin Chotah.

This is the split boulder, (Tracy's Rock), where Apollo astronaut Jack Schmitt had his picture taken for the Taurus Littrow valley shot on the Moon.

It doesn't take much work to show that the footage was impossible to be filmed in the open. Have you ever tried? See how obvious the air is? See how obvious it is that the Apollo footage doesn't have air?

What distinguishes film crew vans from other vans, particularly from a distance? All I see are vans.

So? The astronauts travelled a lot. Geology field trips, survival training, public appearances, inspecting their spacecraft at Grumman or North American or wherever... it's absurd to suggest that a place is a potential fake Moon landing site simply because Apollo astronauts visited this place at some point.

Who says it's Area 51? What's the source of this image? It looks more like a museum display to me. And if it is indeed a fake Moon landing site, why didn't NASA hide it better?

Sorry, all this proves is that NASA did simulations to make sure that their astronauts were as well prepared for the Apollo missions as possible. This is like saying, "Well, the military conducts exercises and war games, so this proves that things like the Afghan war are hoaxes."

Just because a place has mountains or boulders does not make it identical to the Moon. Playdor tried this claim as part of a Gish Gallop in the "The Waving Flag Theory Debunked" thread too. Totally unconvincing.

The dust in the Apollo videos does not behave like dust on Earth. It falls to the ground immediately; on Earth, the dust would hang in the air. Aerosolization.

what a bad photoshop work , its not the same mountain even if you invert the colors its not the same quality as the moon pictures and the moon rocks look different too.

Capricorn One was the first movie about a hoax a "Mars Landing hoax" made in 1977 the director had a good relationship with nasa and took pieces from the "real apollo films" and a prototype moon module and props from the government.

The picture is with "the moon module on the surface of mars". ;D

I am willing to accept that you are re-posting some one's thought with the purpose of understanding the issue yourself. But please be aware that many hoax believers initially present themselves this way, only to be unmasked by their continued insistence that a hoax has been uncovered. If you are truly a fence sitter looking for some explanation that will ease your doubt, then you have come to the right place.

Also, please restrain from posting with the large font size, it makes your posts hard to read and is an style associated with writers who primarily make emotional appeals.

That said, all pictures of mountains taken from a surrounding plateau have some superficial characteristics in common. To start with, the mountain will be higher than the photographer and it has sloping sides. There is nothing more in these photos that a few superficial common characteristics. To start with, the surrounding landscape doesn't match up well. Secondly, there is that big mountain in the background that isn't in the moon photo. Third, manipulating an image to make some characteristics appear more similar is not the same as showing that the images have actual commonality. Photo analysis works on known principles that does not include goal seeking movement of sliders in Photoshop.

What other Apollo photos have you looked at? There are six lunar landing sites. Does your source suggest a earthly location for each site or is he picking one photo because of the superficial resemblance? If he is unable to provide a complete story for each site, then the chances are that he really doesn't know what he is talking about and is just trying to raise doubts. Its called FUD.

I have to say that I laughed at the superimposing Buzz onto the Lunar image of the South Massif rather than superimposing the image of Mauna Kea over the South Massif and seeing if they match. Of course doing that would have ruined the whole, but they look similar claims, because if you do superimpose them then it quickly becomes clear that other then the superfical aspect of the shape, they don't match.
