It's almost time again.... Call it what you want, my favorite lunar illumination event is "scheduled" to start at approx. July 22 – 0243 UT. Point your scopes towards Luna and find the "X" reflection near the terminator. I'm probably going to miss this one, so I am challenging you all to see who can get the best photo of the "X".
Clear Skies,

Hi.
That's Exactly it. It is just a "X" shaped reflection on the moon that can be seen every other month or so...

Ok, people in North America have two more chances of seeing the "X" this year. The next opportunity is on the evening of September 18, 2007; 0001UT Sept 19, 2007-0147 UT. Do we have any Lunies in here?

67champ, you might have noted a lack of responses, the likely reason being that most people here are more interested in Rockets and Spacecraft that astronomy (that's not to say that we aren't into both, just more into the first.)
You might want to join up with the BAUT board as they have way more astronomers, and many of those here are there as well anyways.

Thanks. Good idea, I'm there also actually. Well, I just have been trying to give as many people a chance to see it as I could. Two hours and counting....

I had never heard of this before your post. Alas, it is raining here and it is expected to continue through tomorrow morning.
