Just a suggestion from another poster. How many of us interested in Apollo and the moon landings are also fans of Star Trek (in any incarnation)?

I like the show because apart from having cool looks most episodes also have an underlying message. I like it when shows have that, and can still be quite fun to watch.
EDIT: On an off-topic note, how does my new avatar look? ;D

I chose the only option that doesn't seem to presuppose a liking of science fiction television.

You could have chosen "show x is superior" and make your show x something like Survivor or Iron Chef or something.

I watched the original ST as a kid. As the reruns became more popular while I was in high school I watched many of the episodes and had some favorites. In college I was exposed to the real fans, the ones that had early (and very expensive) VCRs, and had recorded all the episodes. With some of those guys, I filled in my viewing deficit. I had a similar relationship with TNG and Voyager but rarely watched Enterprise.
I think I have seen all the movies by now. What is it with the odd even split on those anyway? How can you make a bad movie every other time?
BertLs, I like the new Avatar, but do you think you could get a little more tilt in the picture?

I do actually have all the movies, bar Final Frontier, and did watch most of the shows, and have considered getting the DVD's, but I far prefer Firefly, Battlestar Galactica and Stargate

They did finally fix the "odd-number curse"...by making Star Trek X (Nemesis) suck.

Firefly and BSG certainly are indeed very nice shows, but Firefly is gone and BSG reportedly only has one more season to go. Stargate I find to be merely decent.

But then again, so are all the 'Treks. Argh... options aren't mutually exclusive... Used to be a rabid fan (note first half of my handle), but have mellowed quite a bit since, I can name quite a few favorite eps, I do own DVDs (DS9, the whole frakkin' series) and I have been to a few conventions... and I know a few Klingon phrases, but don't have a costume.

I do. Haven't been able to fit in it in years.

Unlike some fans, I love ALL Trek. Each of them had their redeeming features - and faults.

I went for the used to be but lost interest, was never really a fan until TNG. TOS did nothing for me at all, I could have easily also have chosen No and X is superior where X was either Dr Who or Blakes7 (Yes I know there are paralells between Blakes7 episodes and TOS or Who)

As for Trek being gone, there is an upcoming Trek movie, which looks like it will be essentially a reboot of the series (much like Batman Begins and Casino Royale were reboots of their respective series).
My favorites are the Original Series and the Next Generation, but I've watched good portions of all the others. The formula was getting kind of stale there at the end. Hopefully the new movie will convince the powers that be to start taking risks again.

The only Star Treks we get shown on TV here (and not even all the time) are Enterprise and Voyager. Out of the two I like Voyager most.
