I've decided to design my own rocket too, wdmundt. Done in OpenOfficeDraw Thus my new avatar. Plus a variation:

Nope. Never seen it before. Actually, what I did was use 3D effects on various shapes in OpenOfficeDraw, then picked the ones I liked and stacked them together. Some of the shapes were totally unexpected after effects applied. I like the result though.

Does yours have retro-fit Martian technology like mine?

Does yours have retro-fit Martian technology like mine? Well...It's still in the testing stage. But thanks for the suggestion. I'll bring that up with the technicians. (talks to self) Apparently, that can be done. whispering...ah, wdmundt, can you tell me exactly what 'retro-fit Martian technology' is? I'll need that information before I consult with the tech guy again.

The Martian technology isn't really completely understood by the guys on the rocketship. They were able to remove the "engine" from a wrecked Martian ship and install it on the rocket. The major stumbling block was that there were no longer any Martians around to explain it.

The major stumbling block was that there were no longer any Martians around to explain it. Would that technology allow me to boost the whole rocket into space? You see, I'd rather have most of the ship not taken up by fuel, and I want all the stages to reach escape velocity. Then I could have more toys on board, like a home theatre, gym (half court), and maybe a library with real books - thousands of them - not digital versions. If it can do that then I'll find a gosh darn Martian myself to figure it out. There's probably one hiding in the bush behind my house right now - oh, that's a groundhog. Ug. Oh, definitely. The whole point of using Martian technology is to improve on the very limited capabilities of the chemical rockets. There is only so much fuel the tanks can hold. With Earth technology of the 1950s, the rocketship would only be able to travel between the planets of the solar system. Martian technology makes interstellar flight possible.
I don't know about the half-court gym, but at least one fuel tank has been converted to a greenhouse. The darkness and gas fumes have been a bit of a drawback, but they are still working on it.

I once drew a rocket years ago for another forum. People complained it looked like male genitals, but I honestly wasn't intending to. I've been shunned ever since.

"Cheer up!" they said, "It could be worse!" So I did, and it was.

I wonder if I have any of the spaceship drawings I made in MS Paint years ago? I should look for them. They were more like Star Wars Star Destroyers, not rockets.
