Enjoy 'em while they're still here. They probably won't be around (outside of zoos) for a whole lot longer.

There are actually about twice as many polar bears now as there were in the '70s, due to conservation efforts.

That's not entirely correct. The main reason the population doubled is because estimates in the early 1970's were inaccurate and later revised. There weren't more bears, there were just more bears than we thought there were to begin with. But conservation did help. From Wikipedia: The USGS estimates that the polar population will be just 1/3 of it's current number by 2050. They will be practically extinct by 2080.

I predict polar bears will not be extinct in 2080. Unfortunately I probably won't be around to verify that prediction, but I stand by it nevertheless.

The common house cat. It's the only animal that I would actually want to share a home with.
I mean, polar bears are cute and all, but you can't really cuddle with one and expect it not to try to eat you.

I meant Polar Bear!!...the fury kind That would be the kind that drink Coke then? You know the ones that moved to Antarctica so they could share Coke with penguins. Or did the penguins migrate to the arctic. I get confused from watching too much TV some times.
