I am subscribed to the Yahoo Apollo Hoax group and I get emailed all the responses. My head is about to explode!! At the moment there is one, shall we say windmill chaser, who, (and for their own protection I have given a ficticious name), constructs arguments like this: Don Quixote: Why didn't the astronauts take any pictures of Earth? Pro Apollo Folk: They were exploring the moon, but they did take many shots of the earth from orbit. DQ: Why didnt they take one of the earth in Buzz's visor? PAF: Like this one (the famous Buzz shot) DQ: No, that blue spot (with the yellow visor tint removed) is close but no donut. PAF: That blue spot which some dedicated fans have found to be the reflection of the earth? DQ: Why didn't they take any photos of the earth? PAF: What about the Apollo 17 shots with earth in them? DQ: Why didn't they take any photos of the earth with astronauts in them? PAF Like the Apollo 17 shot? DQ: You're a nutjob, and a liar. Bart Sibrel speaks the truth. PAF: Bart has a history of concealing facts. DQ: You are a liar. Why didnt they take any photos of the Earth with astronauts in them. PAF: Like the Apollo 17 photo? DQ: Why didn't they....ad infinitum OOOOOOHHHH BOY!!!!! Someone please pinch me to wake me up. To those of you who are also dealing with this discussion (dont know if its OK to mention whos there)...I dont know how you stay so calm.

Has someone provided a link to the Apollo 17 photos? Or posted them to the list (I know, not a good idea, but it would be hard to argue against)?
If Don Quixote ignores this, then assume he's a troll and ignore/delete him.

Why don't you just post the photo of Jack Schmitt and the Earth in the discussion?
All I see is people saying "Like the Apollo 17 photo".
Show the doorknob the photo and perhaps his 14 year old mind will begin to become inquisitive.
If not, he can run for office.

Guys,
I rest my case . . . .
They don't go where you lead them if it is a link. Post a photograph that refutes the Bart Sibrel BS that they have seen and maybe, just maybe, they will look at it.
They will not understand. . . .but they will SEE it.
Again . . . they will not understand . . . but I guess that is why all of you bust your butts trying to educate the children who believe in the hoax, the children who dropped out of high school, the children who drive from Margate to Vladivostok for a living . . . . . . . . . .
As much as I admire those of you who continue to refute the HB's I must mention . . . . none of them were alive when the real moon landings happened. They are the children of the computer generation. They are "me" people.
Ignore them. They are inconsequential to the reality that IS. Their life is defined by the dimensions of an X-Box.
They cannot think outside of the "X"
And now that my "geezer" rant is drawing to a close, I have a question for the non believers . . . . . .
PM me if you believe it exists.
And along with that PM, prove to me you were born before 1969.
'cause if you weren't . . . . then ALL of us do not exist in your eyes . . . . if they could hoax a lunar landing . . . . . "THEY" could hoax almost anything . . . . .
Note to Regulars here : Now do you understand why I seldom post???!!!
And dwight,
I apologize for venting in your thread.

LOL, that's been quite a weird thread.
BTW, you can't post pictures directly into the discussion because some people get it as e-mail.
So we've got that guy who's a one-trick-pony: his only argument is, "It would have been cool if [random suggestion], and since that didn't happen Apollo is fake." He can only seem to formulate arguments that start with him trying to impose some sort of personal fantasy world upon reality.
Then there's that other guy who is staunchly defending Bart Sibrel against "lies" and "disinformation". He's so wound up and he doesn't even know why.

Jay...I honestly am awed by your patience and methodical detail in reponses when dealing with these folk. One-trick-pony. THAT is the funniest thing I've read in ages!!! )

I've also been folowing the Thead on the Yahoo group , recently another HB'er has turned up ranting about Bart Siebel - andthrowing words such a deformation around...
I can' t help wondering if it's Bart himself - or one of his minnions , since they seen to hava great deal of emotional investment in Bart's claims ...

The guy writes a little bit like Sibrel. The problem is that Sibrel knows better than to debate in open forums. He does hype up his stuff on the web under false names, but not in a way that allows for interactive challenges. He's crafty enough to know he can't win in a fair fight, so he doesn't consent to them.

Sibrel did participate in the FOX forum after they aired their hoax show in 2001 but he got such a virtual beating that he ran away and swore off public forums ever since. Maybe he's getting bored.

His subsequent approach to detailed debunking and no-holds-barred debate seems to be, "They're talking about me so much, I must be on to something." But as has been made abundantly clear, he can't last very long under actual debate.
Some here may recall the report of those who went to the premiere of Astronauts Gone Wild. Sibrel held a Q&A after, but limited each person to one question and no follow-up, so that Sibrel always had the last word and there would be no actual debate. So Sibrel skillfully spewed plausible-sounding garbage to difficult questions and the original questioner never had the chance to call him on it.

This is the latest offering from one of the pro hoax folk there. I dont know whether to laugh or cry:
The question was posed that Spacecraftfilms purposely dont include the post-flight press conference as it would blow the lid on the whole cover-up, and SCF want to keep lining their pockets with gold by furthering the myth. Thus they are possibly crooks in not including it.
What the? I imagine frothing at the mouth when I read that.
Edited to make the post more forum-rule-friendly
