However, it certainly is strange that they never even tried to take a picture of themselves with the stars
Oh, how many more times. It is not possible to take a photograph of a sunlit object and expose the stars in the background. Again I direct you to the challenge to find any such phot. I've already given you examples of even overexposed objects that still fail to capture the stars in the background.
or the earth in the background.
Thank you for a further demonstration of just how little research you have actually put in to this matter. Now tell us again why we should take you seriously?

You, Mr. I Have A Better Than U.S. Physics Degree, [...]
That's again not what I said. I have an equivalent to a US bachelor's degree in physics plus some more qualifications in that subject i.e. almost a master's degree. So again, my physics education, though almost 20 years old is on the level between bachelor and master. I hope this will be understood even by the slowest of you people. Oh ho! It gets even better. Now you're edging up to a Master's degree. Just keep pushing those claims. There's no need for a bet. You cannot or will not answer even basic physics questions that someone with your claimed education could answer in their sleep. If you had the least clue, you would have answered them just to keep from looking so completely foolish.

Lunar Orbit, would we be able to give stargazer a special rank of "Old Grouch"? He seems to very fond of the phrase. No dummy, it's just because of your avatar again. Now now, don't be such an old grouch. How do you expect us to help you if you keep lashing out like that? I suppose if I were as old as you, and had such a burning desire to impress, but absolutely no ability whatsoever to do so, I might be bitter too. But remember, even though this forum took you in after society spat you out, there are limits to our patience. If you keep on misbehaving, we're going to stop being so nice to you.

I'm sorry to interrupt your rantings here and in another thread apollohoax.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1139847157. But I'd like to suggest you read through the threads again and look who started all the insulting. It wasn't me who used words like "liar", "wacko", etc. first. It seems your misperceptions are not limited to Apollo.

Quite right. Although Stargazer implied very strongly the ideas "moron," "uneducated," "gullible," "mislead," and "liar," within his very first post, the words themselves were used by long-term forum members later in the thread.
Unfortunately the line between "You are uniformed on the physics and you have not thought through the problem," and "You are an ignorant fool," is wide and grey. It is difficult, and in the end pointless, to try to say whose language descended faster or further.
Stargazer, if all we have to say now is "who insulted who first," we obviously have no more hope of ever having an actual discussion.

Let's take a look at stargazer's very first post.
...Now, I don't expect to find many people here who will maintain that they too are convinced it was a fake since this board seems clearly dominated by the so-called hoax debunkers some of whom seem to be doing this "debunking" for a living. Actually it doesn't take much knowledge about space travel or astrophysics -- I have some though -- to soon figure out the Apollo moon landings were a fraud. ...and even more ridiculous is the fact the astronauts never talked about the stars, ... Also, from watching the three heros in the post-flight press conference of Apollo 11 any sensitive person will see that there is something very fishy with the behavior of those alleged moon travelers
So he started off by saying - we're government stooges and liars (for posing as other than paid debunkers) - we don't know anything about space or physics (we're too dumb to see the obvious hoax) and called the crews "astronauts" (derogatory) and "heros" (mocking sarcasm).
But I promise not to say anything mean to stargazer any more. I'll just keep asking him to back up his claims: how multiple spotlights can throw a single shadow, what exactly is supposed to be wrong with the terminator on the Earth in the pictures shown, how many stars one could see during lunar night, what types, energies, and fluxes constitute a "searing radiation hell", what kind of exposures are required to photograph both sunlit objects and stars, etc. etc., etc. Oh, and where he got his physics degree.

Holy smokes! This thread has ballooned since I last looked at it. I'll need to read it all when I can find an hour or three to spare!

You'd be better off flossing with barbed wire and gargling with lemon juice.
I'll summarize.
Jay,Sts60,Bob,etc.: (lots of sciency stuff) Stargazer: You're all stupid.

I knew you had a sense of humor beneath that gruff exterior, Jay. "Sciency stuff"? Heh!

You don't have to be a tourist to look out the window. A few more Astronauts like this one and there will be a few less of us in the ignorant seething masses making 5 out of 2+2.
Must all be a lie, look at the picture of the moonlit earth and the aroura. There aren't any stars.

There are stars in that shot . However for some reason that one has been cropped . Its a conspiracy I tells ya. I have the full photo floating around in my hard drive.

Now what is funny here? Look closely at the reflection in the visor of the "astronaut". What you see there is a row of spotlights. Of course, the "debunkers" will immediately shout: No, that's a lens artifact; or other such nonsense. I think several reflections in the multi-layer visor/helmet rather than a lens flare. Anyone agree?

Cool, would be good to see that. I was expecting to see them, but not seeing any figured the exposure time must have been shorter than I thought would be needed. It'd be nice to see them because then I know my basic photograhpy knowledge isn't totally out of whack.
