I'd hazard a guess, not having seen it, that they were treading on the camera cable while walking around the LM.

Bah! That's what us government paid sheeple would like you to think. In fact it was caused by the prop mananger bumping the camera everytime he adjusted the fresnel light that was mounted right next to the camera.
In fact Jason, you are correct!! Of course the last time they tread on it (at the end of EVA 2) the camera is jolted to the floor. Once you know where to look you see the cable move whenever they tread on it. Had me stumped though when I first saw it.

If anything the point is that an "anomilie" can either be researched properly and found to be what it is, or it can be prejudiced into being what the believer wants it to be. Considering how we have people making obtuse claims about crater depth using a 2d photo, it baffled me as to why this obvious camera movemement was never picked up on and examined to death. If anything cries out for the HB technique of showing carefully chosen sequences, this is it.
