This is the one about von Braun going to Antarctica to collect meteorites so they could be passed off as moon rocks. The guy goes on vacation and the HBs try to make it seem sinister.

Anyone who grew up playing Asteroids knows that the orientation of your spacecraft can be completely different from its direction of travel. As does anyone who ever watched an episode of Babylon 5 with Starfuries in it. Or played Lunar Lander. Nerds. Always going for the most obscure reference.

This is a protractor. It is used to measure angles. This one is graduated in degrees. Note half a circle is 180 o.

Whoever this guy is, he clearly needs serious medical help and about twenty years of remedial education. See my sig for a quote which used to be on his Apollo Data page, demonstrating his grasp on basic orbital mechanics. That's the guy??? I remember reading that a few years ago. The other day, a co-worker was reading some HB website and couldn't believe how ignorant the author was. "That's nothing", I said, and told him about the math in your sig.

Is it just me, or is scientific literacy inversely proportional to the square of the number of guns a person owns? That would be just you. Good. I was beginning to worry.

I thought about that, but then it sounded like something someone might actually believe. You can never be sure in the debunking game. Too true. I can't remember which forum the discussion was on, but the inaccurate spinning bullet in a vacuum claim was met with far too much acceptance, and exclusively by the "gun enthusiasts" on the forum, at that. Is it just me, or is scientific literacy inversely proportional to the square of the number of guns a person owns?

And guns won't shoot accurately because there is no air to stabilise the spinning bullet and they will just go off in random directions.
...actually read that on a forum a long time ago.

Oh, man. I just watched part 1. All he did was say the LRO images are fake because GeoEye-1 can take better images of the Earth from a higher orbit than the LRO. Absolutely no mention of their different size optics.
I can't make myself watch any more.

Now you can't just lump all black ops guys into a generic Sure I can. Proven by the fact that I just did. Alright. You win this round...

Now you can't just lump all black ops guys into a generic "they". The "they" who killed JFK were infinitely more competent than the "they" who tried to kill witnesses and researchers. JFK witness Jean Hill, whose story morphed from seeing nothing to chasing a gunman on the Grassy Knoll was the target of ten, count em, ten, assassination attempts!

Hi, everybody. I came across a link to this forum and was innocently browsing it when I saw this Jack White thread and just had to join to post at least one comment about Jack. I used to visit a forum about the JFK assassination about 12 or 13 years ago but stopped going after my posts that pointed out Jack's mistakes kept getting deleted. It was the only forum I knew that Jack posted to and he was treated like a god. I thought I'd read that he'd died a few years ago. Oh, well. That's what I get for assuming stupidity is a fatal condition.
Anyway, I'm "Matt" in the LRO Apollo website comments. So far I've replied to about 6 or 7 people why the Hubble cannot be used to see the landers on the Moon. And twice why the radiation didn't kill anybody.
