Show me a software guy who can replace the lower control arm on a MacPherson strut suspension and I'll show you a guy who is legitimately grateful to make his living in software. That's me! But I have an engineering degree so that probably explains it.

What he ^^^^ said!
In fairness, us programmer types also regularly encounter persons of the engineering (and other) type berating us that something should be very simple to do "with our computers", with total lack of insight into the complexities often hidden in human language descriptions of problems.
Besides, in creationism circles proponents so often are, or claim to be, engineers, that it has become somewhat of a running joke. Perhaps because of an unreasonable assumption that if one understands mechanical systems, one also understands biology. (And again, in fairness, there are several well known proponents with a computer or information background too.)

Any update from Rourke on this? I'm still interested to hear his explanation of the two astro photos and how they link to Apollo being faked.
I bet his bosses at Warwick are also interested.

He did reply to my email asking him direct questions about the stuff on his web site, but to date I have received no reply to my email (sent on 21st April) inviting him here to discuss it.

Forgive me for reviving an extremely old thread, but it appears that Prof. Rourke has changed his mind on this matter.
The links to his "Studies in fakery" have now been removed (actually, commented out) from his home page (http://msp.warwick.ac.uk/~cpr/)
The files still exists, but the links are removed.
There's hope yet!

Or maybe he made a business decision to no longer publish his conjecture because it was getting in the way of his career. Until he issues a retraction, I'll assume he still stands by his work.
