SpaceX is set to launch it's Falcon 9 rocket today at 10:42 EST today. That is just a little more than an hour away. If you have a fast broadband connection you can watch to launch, if it occurs, at www.spacex.com/webcast.phpThis is a test mission of the first non-government launch system capable of taking a crew into orbit.

I didn't get to watch it this morning, but the reports say it took off like a rocket. It is still in orbit and should be deorbited soon for a splashdown in the Pacific .

I tuned in to the livestream purely by chance and I got in 30 seconds into the mission. Watching the multiple stages for 10 minutes was a great experience.

The Dragon capsule has splashed down on time and on target. SpaceX is now the first commercial operation to return a spacecraft from orbit.

I saw pretty much all of that video starting from 1 minute onwards. I had just missed the launch itself by 30 seconds.
