We have an exchange student from Chile staying at our home this year. She is attending a local public high school and the science department has made it a requirement that the students submit a project for a space related science fair. The rules are still a bit vague, but as I understand them, she must propose a project that can be flown into space. The students are required to submit a two minute video as the primary part of the proposal.
Our exchange student ask for some suggestions this morning and I had nothing to offer. So I am asking if anyone here has a good ideas. She will get the grade for chemistry and and experiment on that subject would fit well with her studies. But the project need not necessarily be chemistry related and all suggestions are welcomed.
The main thing is to get an idea that she can complete. She is smart and hardworking and loves being in America. It is really fun to see her bubble over opportunities to experience the parts of American life we take for granted.

Need more clues..
I think the answers might be very, very different depending on whether there is an implicit offer of the experiment being taken up there (eg to a pressurised environment like the ISS), or as an attachment to a satellite, or does the process of getting there have to be included , eg a diy rocket or balloon...?

I am working on the answer. It is sometimes difficult for me to get clear answers out of teenage girls. Their motivations are not the same as mine were at that age so things like the rules of the contest are difficult to acquire.

What sort of science is she interested in? Biology? Chemistry? Physics? Even psychology, if the assignment is not limited to the hard sciences?

Thanks, we'll look at that. Like the combination of your avatar and tag line, by the way.

Like the combination of your avatar and tag line, by the way. Consider that seconded, AG.
