I know I'm always serious around here and all, and I don't want everyone to think that I don't have a sense of humour. So here is my halfhearted attempt at something that may turn out to be funny by someone, somewhere, at some time. So I present to you my Junk Drawer - that venerable institution that holds all the 'stuff' you don't know where to put. I've cleaned it out at least once in the last fifteen years, but somehow it continues to grow. Whenever I can't find something, I consult the Junk Drawer to seek its help and wisdom. Need an elastic band? A telephone cord? Birthday candles? Or maybe a small ball to throw at the cat? Check the Junk DrawerSo here it is, check it out - its really neat. i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb184/ginniegatrit/junkdrawer.jpgIf you decide to put up pictures of your Junk Drawer, please link to them - LO won't be happy if we slow everybody's viewing down with junk. ;D If you make your pictures around 800 pixels wide that would be great. That would be about large enough to examine its contents. Have fun..

I am amazed that anyone can keep it down to one drawer. I have boxes of once useful stuff in my house. One contains old computer parts, just in case I want to rebuild a antiquated computer. I have a separate box for computer cables, because you never know when you will need a spare IDE hard drive cable or five despite the fact that everything is going to S-IDE, including the next machine I build, which will not include any of the old parts I've saved. My wife thinks that USB cables are precious to me.
What bugs me most is the box I have to keep of actually needed cables, connectors, power supplies and occasionally needed plastic parts for the stuff I do use. The power supplies for my Bluetooth earbud take up more space than the earbud itself. And it was recently taken out of service because my new truck has Bluetooth.

My junk drawer isn't cluttered enough yet. I've only been in my current place for a couple years. Give me a few more and it will be photo-worthy.

That's not a junk drawer, looks like you can get stuff out without taking the rest with it ;D
And find stuff....

I have cables upon cables (telephone, cable, instrument, USB, Printer, RCA, SVideo, Component, Speaker, plus many more) in boxes in the back room. I've tried to get rid of old computer parts but still have power supplies, ram, scanner, mouse, CD ROM, Joystick, Keyboards, Video cards, etc. I always feel that 'some day' I will need 'em. But that hardly ever happens. I should have specified that this is my Kitchen Junk Drawer only. When it gets to the point that something don't fit, I take something else out and throw it in a box in the back room.

I should have specified that this is my Kitchen Junk Drawer only. Life was so much simplere when the only thing you needed to keep that would never be used agian was old unrecognized keys. My wife banned me from putting junk in any of the kitchen drawers after we remodeled. So all junk is in boxes, inside the house anyway.
