Y do I have 2 type properly??its not an English test!!thats the problem with U people U see things in black & white..its about word economy!!not spelling intelligence..."your ability to see the difference" this is not a job interview,it's informal!! Using standard English is about clarity and helping others to understand what you are saying. When you use code, readers must interpret what you say. This leads to misinterpretation and more importantly, to readers loosing interest in what you write. Most of us make and understand writing mistakes and we give a wide latitude for those that are not native English speakers. But we all appreciate clarity of writing. If you want to get heard here, you will do well to use your best English.

What purpose does "word economy" have on an internet forum anyway? Sending a text message it might make sense. On an internet forum it says to me "I have the patience and attention span of a gnat."

If you're so concerned about word economy why do you use so many question marks and exclamation points? Doesn't it take effort to type more of them? Look, we just want to understand what you're saying thats all. ;D

I can see you're back again, altair4. You have started three threads that have garnered a number of responses. Do you have any intention of addressing those responses? altair4, do you ? I mean specifically regarding our response to the Apollo 15 video. That's what this thread is supposed to be about.

If the 0.1 seconds to type out "you" is too much for you, chances are you haven't spent nearly enough time thinking about your post. Or the ideas behind it. Careful spelling, punctuation, grammar and organization serve two purposes. They communicate your ideas more accurately and more efficiently to your readers; and, they force you to order your own thoughts in order that you may set them down formally.

It is common courtesy to your readers to make your posts easy to read, and abbreviations are not an aid to easy reading. Even writing "seven" instead of "7" makes for quicker understanding. You really need to read my signature line, too.

Typing like that makes you look like a retard which tends to make people unlikely to agree with your point, assuming that they don't just skip over your post rather than spend the effort trying to figure out what you are attempting to fail. As for word economy the internet still has plenty of space left so you don't have to worry about filling it up.

Y..its about word economy!! There is nothing economical about it at all. You may save a few milliseconds in typing at the expense of everyone else spending several seconds or more trying to figure out what you are trying to say. It is also very poor marketing of you ideas. I hope you're not a business major because you're already failing two classes. Your use of abbreviations exhibits laziness on your part and a discourtesy to others. If you continue to do it, I will take it as deliberate rudeness. I plan to ignore all your future posts until you desist.

He saves time at our "expense". Altair...although I speak only for myself, there seems to be a growing consensus among the posters here that if you continue posting in this manner, you will be ignored. ...then you'll only be wasting your time.

It is discourteous: the subtext is that his time is more important than that of any readers...

I have to agree with the above posts. As soon as anyone starts using text language, upper case and lots of exclamation or question marks, my eyes start to glaze over (even more than normal) and I skip to the next message. Don't turn off your potential audience - the first thing I learned in how to make presentations.
