Conspiracy theorists often use quotes from fire fighters and other witnesses of the WTC collapses who said "it sounded like a bomb went off" as evidence that there were bombs in the buildings. I was reminded of this today after a highway overpass in Quebec collapsed (possibly killing at least two people) and witnesses described the sound it made the same way.
My point? Just because it sounded like a bomb doesn't mean it was one.

Great, now you've opened the door for conspiracists to claim the Quebec overpass collapse was caused by a bomb (no doubt one planted by the CIA).

I thought of that. We have had CT's claim bombs were placed in the WTC way back in the 1970's when they were constructed, so there's no doubt a CT out there who will claim bombs were also planted in the Quebec overpass in the 1970's.

It is designed to make life difficult for people in Laval to enter Montreal. There must be someone important working on something the Illuminati want supressed.

Most people have never heard a bomb so what is their basis for comparison?

Anyone who's been on a firing range, deer hunting, or to a skeet shoot should know what a gun shot sounds like. That's a large portion of the population in Utah. That's probably not the case in Quebec though.

I'm sure hunting is fairly popular in the province of Quebec (since most of it is wilderness) but less so in populated areas like Laval.

I heard the collapse described as sounding like a bomb in a CTV news report. I'll see if there is a print version or transcript.

I think this is the quote "I turned my head obviously because it sounded like the explosion of a 50-kilogram bomb." - Claude Canton, who had been painting his house Highway 19 but rushed to the scene. news.yahoo.ca/s/30092006/2/national-witnesses-give-dramatic-accounts-overpass-collapse-near-laval-que.html There was a small earthquake in New Hampshire ( a US state not know for seismic activity) “Henniker Police secretary Gail Abramowicz said she got about 20 calls in four minutes. "People were concerned if anything exploded. They said it sounded like a bomb went off and wanted to know if I had calls.” www.seacoastonline.com/2004news/1_21special2.htm A bolt of lightning struck a dead tree in Florida “ "The last time I heard something like that, I was overseas at war," Cape Coral Vietnam veteran Richard Foley told the newspaper. He said, "It literally sounded like a bomb." Korean war veteran Richard Charleville, who’s home sustained $2,000 in damage, said the explosion knocked him out of bed. "It sounded like somebody tossed a grenade in the house." “ www.uclick.com/widgets/ew/060818/ew060818x.html

It's not the exact quote I heard, but the same witness was probably interviewed multiple times and said the same thing over and over. I like how he even specified that it sounded like a "50-kilogram" bomb. He must know his bombs.

Just because people thought it sounded like a bomb doesn't mean it wasn't a bomb.

Are you suggesting that someone blew up the overpass?
