Almost a century after Goddard showed otherwise, I still see a lot of people claiming that "Apollo spacecraft couldn't work because of the third Newton's Law". Maybe they saw half of a physics class, and skipped the whole course.
I even tried to mention that virtually every spacecraft does that too, but they either think there are no other spacecrafts, or that they only uses a rocket for atmosferic launch. I think images will work better than words.
So I looked on the internet for some educative video about it, and I found another lot of people who use vacuum chambers and baloons for educative classes, but shamefully they never tried to show that very thing: that a ballon can propell itself in vacuum.
Do you know where can I find such an example on internet video?

At least they're in esteemed company on that one. On a certain summer day in 1969, The New York Times printed a retraction to an editorial they'd written decades before snarking at Goddard for his belief that you could send rockets into space.

I'd love to know how all those orbiting satellites got up there if rockets don't work in a vacuum...cranes perhaps?

And that my liege is how we know the world to be banana-shaped. This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes.

This is what we get up to when there isn't a HB to debate with. As much as they annoy me when they're here, I do miss the little scamps when they scuttle away after Jay and the rest of the gang give them a drubbing.
