You do know that Ronald Moore said they were going to be using false script pages for the fourth season to avoid giving away spoilers, don't you?

As an aside (and revealing just how old I really am), I was a sophomore in high school when The Emprie Strikes Back came out. I was probably the biggest Star Wars nerd in my school, having seen the original seven times in the theater. I couldn't wait to see TESB, but it wasn't in a theater nearby -- so I didn't get to see it right away. My friend Randy Krueger saw it in Omaha or Des Moines before I had a chance. In driver's ed. class one day, he turned to me and said "I can't believe it. Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father."
Arg. That would have been a cool thing to experience, but I never got to.

I first saw The Empire Strikes Back on my eighth birthday. I remember feeling betrayed by Obi-Wan and creeped out by how Luke and Vader were talking to each other with their minds at the end of the movie, with Luke seeming to accept that it was true.

Oh, felgercarb. I am so tired of Star Wars fan movies. Make something original!
I was also probably my school's biggest Battlestar Galactica nerd. I remember counting the hours before the premiere. I really loved that show and I was just heart-broken when it was so quickly canceled. Even as a fifteen or so year old, I knew it was no Star Trek and I recognized that the writing was just awful -- but I loved it anyway. I still have the model kits from the show I built back then.
I like the new show -- but it is awfully grim. It could be more fun, now and then.

Because it's so grim the small victories mean even more.

Hey, is this show really that good? The First Season is fifty bucks, which I don't have right now. Can I watch it (legally ) online anywhere?
I just feel so...left out.

They were offering full episodes for download on itunes, but I'm not sure if they're on there anymore. The Sci-Fi channels' website might have some for download too.
But again, you would have to start from the beginning. Don't download some third season episode and think you'll be getting the full experience.

The Sci-Fi channel website has some third season episodes, but no first-season episodes up right now. And it looks like iTunes doesn't have the episdoes available anymore.
So I guess renting it is the way to go if you don't want to spend the cash.

Anyone else catch the number of the weapons locker prominently featured in last night's episode, "The Ties that Bind"? Had a bit of a giddy geeky spaz the instant I saw it.

Thank god. I thought I was the only one who noticed it. Someone at BAUT said it was 17010 but I was pretty sure it was 1701D.
For anyone who doesn't understand the significance of that number, the registry number on the starship Enterprise in ST:TNG was NCC-1701-D. Ronald Moore was involved with ST:TNG and is now the producer of BSG.
There are other "easter eggs" throughout BSG, like lines from Bladerunner (which Edward James Olmos was in) and other Star Trek references.

Jason, have you seen this picture? It's obviously meant to look like The Last Supper, and Ronald Moore has said it contains clues to the identity of the final Cylon (who is not in the picture). There are 12 people in the picture, and 13 in the original Last Supper. Someone is missing between Col. Tigh and Lee Adama.

I have seen it, yes. If Moore is not trying to mislead us when he says the final Cylon isn't in the picture, then I may have to go with Zarek as the final Cylon. The missing person is right next to Lee, and Zarek is working hard to get on his good side. Dee and Gaeta simply aren't interesting enough for the buildup towards revealing the last one, Cally was disqualified last night, and all the main characters I thought were good candidates are at the table. That's if Moore isn't lying.
Notice that Adama and Roslin are at opposite ends. I think their relationship is on the way out (foreshadowed by Roslin having shot a bullet between the two of them in her picture in the second episode of the season). I think Six is pointing at Athena and Helo. Maybe she'll blame Athena for the Cylon civil war that is brewing? Tyrol is going to get brutal after last night, I think. That would be why he's holding a knife.

SPOILERS AHEAD! Do not read this post if you haven't watched the series and plan to in the future. The missing person is right next to Lee, and Zarek is working hard to get on his good side. Those were my thoughts too. I guess it could be Dee's empty seat, but I agree that she just isn't an interesting enough character. Making her the final Cylon would be disappointing. So far we have been given no reason to believe that the final five Cylons can download into new bodies... but what if they can? Maybe they have a baseship that isn't controlled by the other Cylons. Unlikely, but we can't rule it out, and it would throw the audience off the trail if they were expecting Cally to be the Cylon. I agree. Adama is torn between trusting Starbuck or Rosalyn, and I'm sure Rosalyn doesn't like that. I hadn't thought of that. In the Entertainment Weekly article where the image originated, Moore comments on the glaring look on Sharon and Helo's faces, and says that the person they are looking at is reacting but he doesn't say who that is. So I thought maybe they were looking at Col. Tigh (suspecting that he is a Cylon, maybe?). And it might also explain why Tory isn't in the picture. Hmmm...
