I wonder if the 1701D locker number was a clue? Maybe the final Cylon is Admiral Cain, played by Michelle Forbes who played Ensign Ro on ST:TNG. Nah... that's a stretch. It would definitely require the final five to have the ability to download into new bodies. Geeze... all this speculating... BSG fans are almost as bad as fans of "Lost".

So far we have been given no reason to believe that the final five Cylons can download into new bodies... but what if they can? Maybe they have a baseship that isn't controlled by the other Cylons. Unlikely, but we can't rule it out, and it would throw the audience off the trail if they were expecting Cally to be the Cylon. I get the feeling that the final five are all individuals. There is only one of each, unlike the other seven. We haven't seen solid evidence either way, but that's my impression. It may be because the five created the other seven - Six seems to think finding them will unravel the secret of their origins.

I've been kindly lent the DVD set of the first season of Battlestar. I'll let you maniacs know what I think after seeing a few episodes.

Next week's new episode is going to be the last one until sometime in 2009... at least six months of waiting to find out how it all ends. I don't know if I can handle that. Edward James Olmos and Jamie Bamber are supposed to be attending the Toronto FanExpo (along with Buzz Aldrin!) this August. Maybe I can convince them to let me in on some secrets.

Frak. (Can I say that?)
Been watching the DVD for almost three hours. All the episodes must be just running without any breaks, which I like.
I must say that it is very good. Interesting characters, plot, special effects... The Galactica is about ready to jump into hyperspace and is being attacked by 72 Batplanes...The not-Cylon guy is being left behind...I thought explosions didn't have flames in a vacuum?... Thanks guys for the recommendation to watch the series. Now I have to fit it in between my Buffy and Angel viewings. Great that they were shot in High Def too (or at least Widescreen). Lastly, good advice too to watch it from the beginning.

I'm glad you're enjoying it, Ginnie. It gets even better. I won't spoil it for you, but the season 1 finale is great! You'll be picking your jaw up off the floor.

So it was the Miniseries that I just watched - no wonder it was so long. I've just put on season one to watch. Normally I don't get a stretch like this for watching TV but my daughter is at her friends, my wife is at her mom's for the night (my mother in law had a major stroke a few weeks ago), and my son is out for most of the night (s). So it's just me and my two boys (the cats). They don't seem too excited about the show - sleeping through most of it and watching birds and chipmunks out the front window. One thing I noticed in the TV series is the jerky camera movement that was not in the miniseries. I hope it doesn't make me too dizzy.

The jerky camera movement varies between directors. It got a little too jerky for a while before they toned it down again.
I liked the mini-series and the first few episodes. The point where I really became a fan was the episode "Act of Contrition" and it's sequel "You Can't Go Home Again". They're episodes #4 and 5 of the first season.
wdmundt was just pulling your leg - if Apollo is a Cylon we haven't found that out yet.
I was just watching the latest episode again today, and I think the special effects are getting even better this fourth season. There are some truly fantastic effects going on on-screen. And I thought it was a great episode too.
