Consider this fact, ABers.
Remember our discussion on how NASA amazingly mixed over 10k pounds of chemicals in 6 seconds through a 1 inch pipe to take off from the moon?
(There were two chemicals and 5000 pounds went through each pipe) -(I can't remember which thread it is in so I started a new thread)
Well Indy Car racing (CART) and NASCAR use the most advanced technology and they can only pump 33 gallons of fuel, 330 lbs, through a 3 inch pipe in 14 seconds.

Curious how you HB folk always seem to synchronise your appearances and departures with each other with the precision of a swiss watch.

Consider this fact, ABers. Remember our discussion on how NASA amazingly mixed over 10k pounds of chemicals in 6 seconds through a 1 inch pipe to take off from the moon? Remember how we spent 20 pages describing to you in exacting detail the operation of the LM ascent engine? Remember how we explained to you, over and over again, that that was not how that engine worked? Remember how we totally sissy-slapped your hysterically ignorant assumptions regarding physics, space exploration, thermal dynamics, politics, orbital dynamics, and so on? And I'll remember to regard everything you say as crap of the absolute highest order.

Remember how up is down and everything that's right is wrong again and 1+1=3? I mean, it's not like this is rocket science we are talking about here. Oh wait, it is? That's right! Where did you get your BS degree? And I don't mean Bachelor of Science if you catch my drift.
By the way, I didn't know you guys could get so funny. This is good stuff.

Thanks I needed a good laugh. ;D I thought the ascent engine burned for like 7 or 8 minutes to put it directly into lunar orbit, where'd you get 6 seconds?

Sigh. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, is it not?

Well, can't waste what you don't have.

No one is claiming any such thing.

No one claimed that. Well, maybe you did, but if so you were wildly off, orders of magnitude off.
Moon Man, if you can't even be bothered to look back at the pages and pages we spent trying to explain how things worked to you before, then please tell me why we should waste more time explaining it to you again? I'll be switched if I spend yet more hours trying to re-relieve your ignorance on the same topic.

...where'd you get 6 seconds? For those who came in late... MM had the idea that the entire load of propellant was pretty much all blown at once. He apparently has some reason to think that you need a "big bang" at the start of a lift-off to get going. Many people tried to correct him. He obviously will never learn. (It's not even that he simply confuses pounds of thrust with pounds of fuel to get that thrust.) Cheers,

Mebbe he's flogging the "rockets need something to push against" dead horse. Since there's no atmosphere on the moon, the only thing the AM had to push on was the DM, so its rocket had to do all of its thrust at once.
And why am I trying to rationalize the irrational?

Moon Man also thought that somebody had to be outside to unzip the ascent module from the descent module to take off. It took dozens of pages to get him to acknowledge the most elementary of errors, despite being provided with links and direct references by a number of people. Actually, there are a lot of corrections and refutations he ignored altogether - as evidenced by his post above.
Like stargazer, he has the attributes of self-assurance in proportion to his ignorance, and the propensity to tout imaginary credentials. He shares with star/LOTR the focused laziness which allows him to crank out dozens of posts without once ever doing any actual work of research, even when you rub his nose in the data. A tiresome combination indeed.

A tiresome combination indeed. Well you should have seen the faster-than-light posting during his brief teleportation here. You cant think as fast as the guy was typing. No wonder it reads like someone on speed. While watching post after post appear I had the imagery of someone wantonly firing a machine gun into a crowd, not caring who or where the bullets hit, as long as they were flying.
