Hi, I had little succes while just presenting static examples of shadows. I met people able to claim that the examples didn't seem paralel because they really weren't paralel, as "the Sun doesn't make paralel shadows in Earth because of the atmospheric difraction". I found it's more didatic to show the transition of the shadows when one moves. Show they are paralel, and then show they can seem nonparalel, in the same take: www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6hJ3L5eKRw

That's actually a very good idea, Jairo. I'll remember your video for future reference.

That's one of the best demonstrations I ever seen on this subject. Simple, clear and undebatable. An excellent show.

On the comments section on my second film, I have now blocked users 1plus8 and Greenmagoos.
There were two other HB's which I have not blocked, as they have made only a single post.
I have also removed two video responses from Greenmagoos
Am not sure if this is the right action, it was just that the back and forth is generating a lot of emails from Youtube and eating up my time.

God the debate on the google video is so freaking dumb. "The lines you drew are not the exact trajectory of those shadows so you're wrong I'm right poo poo pee pee whaa waa waa!"
Of course the HB's miss the glaringly obvious big honking fact that those shadows are pointing in different directions!

If only every HB making those awful claims could see that video. They won't admit to anything but it would be great fun watching them fall over themselves trying to come up with a response to it.

I have also removed two video responses from Greenmagoos Am not sure if this is the right action, it was just that the back and forth is generating a lot of emails from Youtube and eating up my time. I wouldn't worry about them at all. Greenmagoo has an uncanny ability to edit his own posts and ban people who ask for any detail of his theory, and that all it is a theory. He has unsuccessfully been unable to prove any of his assertions and when challenged get rude abusive and starts swearing at people. 1 Plus 8 is his alterego, who just posts after every Greenmagoo post so they are probably friends or related. Greenmagoos reply to following question indicates what a serious intellectual we are dealing with here ;p Macapple :"The apollo footage does not look anything like 2001 , please list the points of similarity instead of the usual lame " find me a video the same" retort." Greenmagoo : "List all the points? Are you blind or just totally dumb? Do you need a list so you can run off and look through hours of footage for anything similar because so far with all your expertise you have came up with f*** all!" All greenmagoo does is state " find me footage that is the same" or start calling people pedophiles and other insults when he is made to look a complete lemon. His whole debate is based on 3 clips of the CM EVA on 15, 16 & 17 which he has edited together with footage from 2001. He doesn't even state his case what is the issue. Yet he holds onto the premise that Kubrick helped film Apollo missions. As most HBs will tell him only 11, 12 & 13 were filmed by Kubrick so he needs to get his story straight with his fellow misguided peeps first. The other problem with the whole Kubrick filming Apollo thing is that after 2001 ASO was released in 68 Kubrick was busily writing his script for the ill fated Napoleon film. www.donkeyontheedge.com/i/napoleon.pdf The script was finished in September 29, 1969 and Kubrick was heavily involved in looking for locations for filming between late 1969 and early 1970. Principle filming for a Clockwork orange started soon after in 1970 so in reality he was busy during most of the Apollo launches and subsequent missions. A small fact simply missed by these sharp, research oriented intellectuals. *cough* /falls off chair in hysterics

I have a question for those of you who create videos. Do you think it would be a good idea to disable comments on your videos? Instead, you could put a message like "to comment on this video, go to apollohoax.net" at the end of the vid.

I expect that that would lead to a lot of accusations of "the truth tellers being silenced", or something. You could be persistent in saying you'd prefer to discuss things at a real forum. EDIT: And a lot of times the people YouTube won't come to forums anyways. A very recent example is on the Education Forum, where Craig Lamson invited a YouTuber called "michaelstmark" to discuss the latter's videos on any forum of his (michaelstmark's!) choice. So far, nothing. Which sounds odd to me.

Instead, you could put a message like "to comment on this video, go to apollohoax.net" at the end of the vid. It would raise the flux of people coming at an adequate place to debate. But it would also give HBs a chance to claim that you are making propaganda, avoiding "unbiased" forums, etc. Well, maybe the advantages would compensate for that.

The videomaker could allow comments for a few days and then close comments, redirecting to apollohoax.

I expect that that would lead to a lot of accusations of "the truth tellers being silenced", Perhaps that's preferable to the current situation. Youtube is like the bathroom wall of the internet. Is it possible to have an actual clickable link in a video's description?

I'm trying to think, what's the best use of youtube. I really don't think that 500-character shouting matches are the best use of it.
I think we all know that people like greenmango (and the other HB's we've known and loved) made up their mind long before we saw them. They absorbed so many hoax videos, that we'll never be able exorcise all the BS. If you enjoy arguing with them, by all means continue. What I'm thinking about are the newbies, people who have just seen their first hoax video. What's very useful to society, I think, is to arm these people with the other side of the story. I wonder if it's more useful and helpful to those people to have a video and a link to this website (or BAUT).
Or alternately, they see a hoax video that uses the shotgun method (1000 baseless claims, fired at them like a shotgun, but they don't know the claims are baseless). Then they click around on youtube and they find a video that debunks just one of the claims. And in the comments section, they see people shouting back and forth.
What are they left thinking in that case?
