Do you suppose he meant disparate? Sadly I think he means 'desperate', you know how HBs regard their evidence...

One of the more notorious 11th of September conspiracy peddlers, the man who burned his rabbit cage to simulate the event, has turned his 'investigative' skills onto the Apollo Landings.Sadly, it's nothing we have not seen before, and includes all the stuff usually bought up.... At the very least I would have expected to see a video of him trying to simulate Apollo by shooting fireworks at the broad side of a barn.

I have yet to see a successful parody of any conspiracy theory. Pretty soon a genuine claim comes along that's even nuttier. Or worse, people start believing the parody.

I've just finished watching Part three of 'Lunar Legacy Ep 1' and it's left me with the question I've used as my thread title.
I knew all about Bill Kaysing and "We Never Went To The Moon", but I've never heard of the Co-Author shown on the title page, can anyone provide details?
Later: Rather than bump this yet, I'm just going to add this note, Bill Kaysing is the figure who is credited with creating the moon hoax, yet his apparent co-author Randy Reid, who appears on the cover of Kaysings book is someone who seems to have dropped 'off the radar', so to speak.
What happened to him?

There were a few news stories at the time along the lines of "These primitive people in [insert third-world country of your choice] don't believe the Americans have reached the moon, because [local moon deity] would have stopped them". Those days were of course before the concept of political correctness was developed. I don't recall anyone putting the hoax theory forward as a serious possibilty at the time, or even after "Capricorn One" was released, The moon hoax concept gets mentioned in Rodney Dales 'The Tumor in the Whale'. It's one of the early books on Urban Legends and is most famous for coining the term FOAF (Friend Of A Friend) to describe the source of such stories. On pages 120-121 of the 1978 edition there is reference to tales clearly inspired by 'Alternative 3' of the US and Soviet Union covering up the discovery of 'artifacts' on the moon, this is in turn linked to a 1950's British comedy entitled 'The First Man on the Moon' which has a misdirected moon rocket coming down in the Australian outback (The confused astronaut has an encounter with empty baked bean tin and then a prospector searching for uranium). It also mentions that in Mexico it was supposedly widely believed that the Moon Landings were faked in a TV studio (Shades of 'Capricorn One'.). It may be that the Moon Hoax stories circulated widely outside the US before entering the country in the wake of 'Capricorn One'.

I'm a big fan of the first half-dozen seasons of The X-Files. I never believed in byzantine conspiracy theories. I'd say pretty much none of my friends did, either. I think that, if anything, it tapped into a pre-existing mindset, letting people who'd already think that way have something to focus on. If The X-Files had never aired, there would still be CTs. I think the internet'd increase their numbers, too. Ditto, I liked some episodes, but I couldn't stand the 'big conspiracy' episodes (with the notable exception of ' Jose Chung's From Outer Space'). I can also remember reading in a conspiracy magazine ('New Dawn") around the time that the 'X-Files' was coming out in Australia a letter which described the series as "...dramatized accounts of real but suppressed events...". As I remember it (I no longer have the magazine) the editors came down on the writer of that letter pretty hard, not that they were unwilling to 'hitch their star' to the series mystique.

Anyone get this on tape?

I downloaded the segments from a net cafe to save bandwidth (I only have dial up) and I've just finished watching them, good stuff, even if I think the 'boppy music' technique is so 'Loose Change' Though I will admit liking the music used in the 'missing tv transmission' segment... I'm going to make a VCD and present it to one of my workmates who peddles all sorts of conspiracy theories, it'll be interesting to see his reaction... Later: Turns out the compression makes the soundtrack too heavily distorted to listen to, so I'll have to write off a CD to the experience.

Er, 400 vs 100 or is that meant to trip someone up? Heck of an air brake though. Agreed, perhaps if you GUPPY or Beluga the fuselage? Then again there is this...

Easy to get a high blood pressure looking at some of that stuff about 20 though. Wow, city on the moon. Well I never. Whatever next. What raises my blood pressure is that: a): Anyone actually believed that nonsense. b): Some people for whatever reason decided to support/expand it it. I mean look at these this Youtube vid from October last year: ALIEN SPACESHIP ON THE MOON flyover bef. FOLLOW THE DARKAnd then there is the Spaceheroes.com site, which includes such gems as: I don't know what 'product' is being pushed by this, but as soon as I find out what it is, I'll no longer buy it.

The Youtube video was nice. Not enough smoke at launch, but he included the ice falling off the booster. That's just a limitation of the SIM program ( Orbiter) he was using, I've got it myself, as far as I can tell the physics are accurate. I've been back and checked that users (armin3773) posts and he did some other vids on the Apollo 20 hoax, rather than link to them individually I'm just going to link to his YouTube page: Armin3773. Two highlights are: 1. Home made CSM Vid.2. Annotated CSM Ingress VideoWhile checking the comments on one of ValValiantThors clips I found this debunking site. Also I've found Retiredafbs youtube page. He claims to have moved his material to a new site (revver <DOT> com). I'm not going there from my own computer, god knows what I could catch from doing that.

This is a bump of an old but somewhat interesting thread. The original hoaxer 'Retiredafb' seems to have disappeared and taken his footage with him. (Thankfully I saved them all before they did so ) However others are carrying on the 'work' of perpetuating and extending the hoax. Behold: ValValiantThor& rrmmii& Moonwalker1966Delta who I suspect is the original hoaxer under another guise. But thankfully that's not all, someone did a video using Orbiter showing what would happen if a Saturn V was[/i] launched from Vandenberg. www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-OxRvyx17kI plan to pull down VVTs & Moonwalker1966Delta's videos tomorrow, I'll let you know what I think after I've watched them.

I'm glad to see someone has tracked down part of this hoaxers audio stockpile.
Interestingly we are almost half-way through October, the month in which there was supposed to be a 'big revelation'.
I wonder if the hoaxer has lost interest in his little game?

I have been suspecting that it was a viral marketing ploy for a while now. I always thought this was going to turn out to be one of those postmodern 'art' things like the 'Soyuz 2' nonsense put on display in Spain back in the 90's. It's interesting to see however that the company is linking to another person releasing videos to support the set linked to in the OP.
