I sure hope you don't drive a motorcycle, nomuse. In about 30 years, you'll be driving along, and WHAM! NASA will use their telekenetic powers to throw you to your death.

It's a dust smudge. That Pete Conrad put there so that people would realize he wasn't really on the Moon. What, didn't you know he was a whistleblower? That's why NASA used their psychic powers to launch him off his motorcycle 30 years later.

I'm really starting to get the impression that Kevin really doesn't want us to be correct. If he were to be proven wrong, it would damage his credibility.

Launching probes into a higher orbit to Mars Jupiter this involves using the moon And other planets for sling shots to almost anywhere you want to go Name three unmanned probes that used the Moon as a gravitational slingshot to reach another planet. I'll be waiting for an answer.

Unlike JAYUTAH posted previously he talks in riddles I am not impressed by that Jay writes like an engineer, which is the least you can expect from him being an engineer and all. I didn't see a single question or riddle in his post. All I saw were factual statements.

Well, KevB I think you better get on the phone with NASA. They've been planning a manned mission to Mars for years now and apparently don't realize that it's orbiting the sun at 24 kilometers a second. If you can't get back to Earth from the Moon there's no way you'd get back from Mars.

So is the question "what if we sent a man to the Moon and the Earth didn't want to have anything to do with it?"
Or "how fast would the spacecraft be traveling during a free-return trajectory when it got back to Earth and the Earth wasn't there?"
The few references I found on Google for "pirouette effect" related to:
-"anomalies associated with rotating magnetic systems" -the "squeezatron" -"A mechanical device for showing the pirouette effect."

There's no reasonable answer to that question, as the CSM never actually "returned to Earth orbit."
Unless you consider slamming into the Earth's atmosphere at 35,000 feet per second "returning to orbit."

I think the fact that we got jovial, real-time commentary from the astronauts about the previous night's baseball game sure sign that the transmissions are real.
Of course, NASA might have sent time travelers into the future to gather important data on sporting events. Heck, if they lob telepathically lob their ex-astronauts from motorcycles, time travel wouldn't be out of the question.

Isn't that a bit like saying the Edmund Hillary never climbed Mt. Everest because he can't remember 50 years later how the flagstaff pulley worked once he reached the summit?

I'm really deep into political and social science right now. NASA is no longer on my front burner. Forgive me for not remembering the name of every nut and bolt, but I want to add some more useless initials beside my name. So basically, you know nothing about everything, and therefore, are always right.
