I just finished a cup of strong tea.
To wdmundt - I generally leave that plastic thing in. But when I think of it I open up the can with my key and take it out. Nice toy for the cats to chase.

1684 views in a little over a day. We're bored. We haven't had a good HB in a long time. I'm still waiting for one. ...but the pattern being that he isn't answering questions asked and bring up new issues to clog the original post. I'm almost to the point of going out and buying a 1/32 scale astronaut model and build a small LM doorway to see it he fits. How can such a simple issue be so complicated to resolve?

Essentially yes, you aim for where the Moon will be. But your course isn't a straight line. You have the curve in the Earth-outbound orbit. And that blends smoothly into the reverse curve of the Moon-inbound orbit. You don't even aim for a point 60 miles in front of the Moon; you aim in a direction that the two-body gravity model bends into a path that eventually passes 60 miles in front of the Moon. Ah, sort of like throwing a football. I see.

Thank goodness I can buy real imported Guinness here now. Used to be you couldn't. Are you drinking in on tap or from a can. And if its a can, do you take out that plastic thing before you recycle it?

Coffee, Mayan Black Onyx, ground to a fine powder and brewed in a small pot. With milk. Sounds fancy. Any cats involved in the creation of your coffee?

Here in Canada, there was a major brahaha because we weren't winning any medals. Now in the past five days we've won thirteen. Way to go Canadian athletes!

Hey, I'm happy if you enjoy it. I wonder what the special edition is like. I have an old release DVD - you can tell just by the packaging. All it has is the concert. I'm glad you picked it up so cheap.

I don't blame them. Besides its only a 24 hour time out. Was I breaking a rule somewhere? Or did the moderators just find me annoying? davidlpf and Jason got themselves suspended for 24 hours for insulting posts here and here. It's referring to when you said to Neverfly: Well, when you end up a dead fool we'll shed no tears, knowing that you got what you wanted.I guess you should have added a smiley face, Jason.

Okay, I'm interested in movies that when you watch today, define/evoke/capture the feel of the sixties. And I'm talking movies that were made in the sixties. Here are a few I can think of:
Blowup To Sir With Love The Party (my all-time favourite comedy) Woodstock
...hmm, what these movies all seem to have in common is music. I guess that goes with the territory...

Correction noted. I'm getting lazy in my research! I only knew that because I'm a big Them fan. A friend of mine had the Lulu version on a tape years ago. I remember seeing "To Sir With Love" in 1968 at the theatre. Loved looking at Lulu and Judy Geeson too. I often wondered what happened to the one guy in the movie - didn't remember ever seeing him again, and just found out that he is Michael DeBarres (?). I never recognized him in anything else. Which makes me want to start a new thread....

Well, they're painting you into a corner, arent't they?
I have to continually remind myself not to use "God", "Religion", "Beliefs" or anything political into my posts. I'm thinking of spending more time here, if only to get things jumping a bit.
Look out...

Or should I say, that I forgot, or never heard in the first place. Lately I've been listening to music from the Sixties that I never heard much of when I was growing up. It's amazing how much 'unknown' (to me) music there is! Here's a sampling: The Pretty Things - no doubt you Brits will be more familiar with this band. I remember Bowie recording a couple of their songs on 'Pinups' - Rosalyn and Here Comes the Night. The latter was actually originally recorded by Lulu but was made famous by Them, Van Morrison’s 1st band who also recorded the original version of Gloria. It was written by Lulu and Them`s producer. Morrison did a great live version in the 70´s. Another great now obscure British band from the period were the Troggs who made Wild Thing famous. Correction noted. I'm getting lazy in my research!
