Very cool. I wish they had kept that one in. Did they not passed that on TV? That's weird, here they passed that part on the episode.

I think the Mythbusters let those details in the show in order to revisit it. A way to take new things to this very interesting episode.

I found a site that provides links to other sites streaming video of televison shows. Now, I consider this slightly unethical, but for people who don't have cable, or havn't seen the episode because their reagen doesn't get it yet, it will allow you to enjoy this excellent episode of Mythbusters. www.surfthechannel.com/show/television/Mythbusters.htmlNow I just wish that someone could provide a definitive answer to the Apollo 15 'flag wave' video, because this is what the AHCT fanboys are going to be screaming about, ignoring of course the mountain of other evidence. For that video, I think that the flag was already waving before Scott's runabout, so there's a nice explanation with that.

Well safe to a degree. A couple of hours was fine, but I doubt they could have managed to orbit in them for 10 days even with the shielding of the capsule walls. Indeed, there are some other kind of electromagnetic phenomena that does not necessarily fits the Gauss' Law.

And you must also take into account the Gauss' Law. The CM can easily be modeled like a closed metal surface, that's it! The mere fact that it was made of metal kept them safe (at least within the VAB).

So, after you guys saw it, what part did you find the most interesting or arguable? For me, the most interesting part was the parabolic flight, that was absolutely amazing. It was certainly a good kick to those which believe that the NASA guys showed an slow motion film.

"The Apollo 11 astronauts have coined a new word in space terminology: "Honeybilla."" Never heard this one before. As far as Manned Flight and Apollo were concerned there was only one "station" -- "Honeysuckle" HSK. The DSN's Tidbinbilla facility -- DSS42 at that time --was a wing to HSK, known as HSKX. It had an 85ft HA/DEC antenna, and a dual Apollo-dedicated USB system (two transmitters and four receivers). The astronauts had absolutely no need to be aware of Tidbinbilla, and certainly no need to ever refer to it. So the story as written makes no sense at all. For those interested, the HSK 85ft XY antenna was dismantled when the station closed in 1983, and re-assembled at Tidbinbilla. It has been in daily use ever since, tracking near earth spacecraft. I understand JPL plan to de-commission it next year. I'm hoping that some way is found to keep it in some manner, for posterity. My last job was Director at Tidbinbilla. There are quite recent pics on Col Mackellars www.honeysucklecreek.net/other_stations/tidbinbilla/index.htmlincluding a pic of DSS46 (as it is today) at www.honeysucklecreek.net/images/other_stations/tidbinbilla_images/DSS_46_BillWood.jpgTidbinbilla is also impressive on Google Earth -- west of Canberra Mike Dinn Woa! I wish I had a time machine to get back to the 60s. It must have been an unforgettable experience. May you, please, tell us some anecdotes?

No, wait... It's the US government trying to stop any attempt of mentioning the Apollo issue... ;D ;D ;D

Perhaps you mistook my meaning: I was not questioning whether you had actually seen it. I was expressing playful frustration that you have seen it and we have not, and implying (jokingly) that you were taunting us with this fact. It's sort of like a game children play: "I-know-something-you-don't-know..." I intended no offense. By the way, welcome to the Board! No offense taken Although, I believe that they mistakenly aired that episode, usually they re-run them on sundays, so I was ready to tape it, but they aired other episode. Anyways, it will be an eye opening (doubt) for the conspiracists. Thank you for your welcome Best wishes. Less than a year for the 40th anniversary of the leap!

His excuse was that the stars are all edited out of the photos. Yet another "Get out of jail free" card. Seems, by only taking that sentence into a very quick analysis, that he does not even think about what he is going to say... ;D (unless, of course, that his purpose is to make himself look and sound dumb).

I cannot believe that Discovery will broadcast that episode much later than in Canada and the UK! I live in South America and already saw it! It is definitively one of the best MB episodes. So I'll wait a bit more tho celebrate it with you. You tease! What! This is really strange, but to prove myself right, I will leak a bit of the show: they went... better wait until you see it, but it was aired here in Bolivia on August 7th. (I give you my word of honor). Unfortunately I did not recorded it

I know. It's really annoying to have such individuals around. The matter is: Even if the russians put them in a rocket and land them in the moon, they will still believe everything is a mock up. I suppose that's a problem inside their minds (lunatics, perhaps...)

What will happen when the LRO gets to the moon? What I mean, what absurd reasoning will the conspiracists tell when the photographs of the LRO of the landing sites will come to earth showing all the things that Apollo left there?
