PW, I wish you'd stick to the topic (how serious is this the flu and whether it justifies the reaction of local, state and federal governments).
To all: I don't give a crap whether or not anyone "likes" me. I don't post here to be validated or popular. You're wasting your time if you hope to hurt or intimidate. I don't need your approval, I don't cry, I don't lose sleep, this board is not my life and I will continue to post what I think needs to be examined until I'm banned. Get it?

I get it alright. I just don't let it deter me. Deter you from what exactly? It puzzles me why you would hitch your wagon to 2 dubious websites and Jones at the exclusion of all other sources of information and post their baloney here of all places. I don't know you but your behavior - from constant links to Jones' show and your recent "I got it too" teaser - is indicative of lame board-baiting, nothing more. Deter me from casting my pearls before ...ummm...swine. Because I'm confident that the only news sources listened to by the folks here are mainstream media sources (which I also watch), I assume that news is known and don't repeat it here. As for what illness I have, since I referred to it as "whatever," I thought that made it clear that I don't know what I have, but apparently it wasn't clear at all. Jones cites his sources which can be checked. I think some people just disagree with the conclusions he comes to based on that information and his style of speech. I happen to agree with his conclusions.

I really don't think you get it DH. Jones has less credibility than Bart Sibrel around here. Using him as your source for anything, including what the weather is like outside, well get you exactly nowhere. Try someone more credible, like Rense, lol. I get it alright. I just don't let it deter me.

Whatever this disease is, I now have it. Day 1 and it's pretty mild. Because you're such a lover of evidence, I'm sure you've had a sample sent to a lab and have not just decided that, if you're sick, it must be swine flu, right? Didn't my post say "whatever this disease is"? Don't read into it.

You tell em echnaton. At least you're curious enough to check out other viewpoints, although I deny that my postings are stupid.
Anyhow, martial law is being discussed as a possibility. I don't even like to see it hinted at.

Ha ha. Everybody's a comedian. PW, thank you for your compliment on my shiftiness. It's too early to say with any definiteness where this thing is going. Just let me suggest that you don't let the government determine your medical care.

By "weaponized" I mean created in a laboratory, particularly a military laboratory. It needn't be particularly deadly in order for the government to institute extreme precautionary measures that violate our freedoms. There are doctors coming forward to say that there's something hinky about this virus. As for deaths in Mexico, it appears the number of dead have been exaggerated. This next week will give us a better picture of what's going on. I understand Napolitano has predicted that there will be another, deadly, wave of flu in July.

Also DH, since you are criticizing the Level 5 alert, could you tell us why it is not justified? Just making a comparison to the normal flu season is lacking much in the way of authoritativeness. Low death rate. World panic is premature.

I am a bit concerned that so many people seem so ready to panic about so little. I'm in agreement with that statement. So why all the panic over this flu bug? Schools are shutting down. VP Biden says stay off trains. There is only 1 confirmed death in the U.S. Our regular flu season kills thousands every year with no Level 5 alert from the WHO.

Peter B, you might want to do some research on vaccine dangers before getting one. There isn't a vaccine for this flu right now, so what you'll be taking won't be effective, yet it may have damaging effects.
Regarding camps, they would be used for people who refuse a mandatory vaccine--they would be rounded up and quarantined in the interests of public safety. This is what has me worried. In California there have already been reports of people with symptoms being taken to a "safe place." Our government tried to mandate vaccines for a flu outbreak back in 1976 under president Gerald Ford. One one person died from the flu. Twenty-five people died from taking the vaccine.

The danger isn't that this flu is a killer--it may well not be. The danger I'm concerned with is that the government may grab onto this as an excuse to force people to take a vaccine.
This virus so far has a low kill rate and is being overhyped. It in no way justifies a Level 5 alert by the WHO.
