Great song! I wonder how JW got the funds to license this? I know exactly how much this costs to license and I'm pretty sure he did not pay it. Gotta' love those film makers that rip off artists. Shame, shame, shame, shame.

Wow that is weird. It must have been something in the translation when LunarOrbit corrected my link (i'm not blaming anyone, perhaps I screwed up in copying the link). But, I clicked on the link and I saw the same thing you saw. However, when you click the link, I believe the info on the left of screen is the description of the photo. Also, once I downloaded it was a zip file and I opened it. I could give it to you, but i think that you won't trust the zip file or the fact that I may have re-touched the photo. I clearly understand this. When I un-zipped the file it gave me a file number of 13751.
Does this help?
P.S. thanks laurel!!

Hi thequestion:
Why don't you try something a bit different than "instructing" this person. As we all know, a movie or visual medium could be better. Ask around the internet and get a copy of "The Truth Behind The Moon Landings" directed by Virginia Quinn and other such documentaries. These things are hard, but I think if this person is shown both sides of the hoax theory, it could help.
In this manner, the opinion would not be yours. Outsiders discussing this very topic.
FYI - I am not related in way, shape or form to this documentary. I think it is interesting.

Hi Ginnie and all. I just joined today. I am actually researching some stuff for a feature film I'm writing. Trying to figure out what makes a CT tick, so to speak, and also get response from some other things I've uncovered during my research on this character. Any way, I think this place on the web is pretty cool. I hope you all read and respond to my post.

Sure: Happy to do it. I took about 50 from NASA. Here is one I found curious. The black space has some strange things going on. There is a tube effect and some of the other pixels looked filled in. I'm just wondering what caused it. Get the photo here: tinyurl.com/npcwxt(fixed your link - LunarOrbit)

Thanks all. Good points.
You've heard this story somewhere before? I swear this really happened to me.
I'm not really interested in debating these conspiracy dudes or the believers, I have no proof, I'm not a scientist, I'm researching a character and found this web site quite compelling. I sent a private message to someone on this board re:costs to pull something like this off. He can post parts of it if he wants. But basically, faking this would have been impossible.
I don't care what anyone says.
I'm really curious about the minds of these people, like my Uncle, how they can give out information to the public without really checking the facts. It's easy for a film maker to put in one side of the story. And people are sheep. Instead of debating on film, a responsible film maker would do the opposite. Show both arguments and let the viewer decide for him/herself.
Thanks to all of you, believers or not.

Fair enough. I did get them over the net. Only in some areas? Some of black looks a shade grayer.

QUOTE JayUtah: You say you're a DP. Many of us are photographers and can speak at an informed level about your specific concerns.
I haven't taken a real close look at very many. Some of the ones I looked at, after researching these guys like JW, and after reading some of the explainations on these forums and other places, the reasons given by people like you are mainly correct, in my opinion.
But I did get a few and blew them up in photoshop and really had a serious look in the black areas. I didn't care about the footprints or the subject matter, and I found it curious that you could see where someone intentially pixled over the black areas. The square pixles are very clear to see. Was wondering why this was done? Do you know what I'm talking about?

No, he was a very serious man. Fighter pilot, war veteran. He would never have said something like that to me unless he really believed it. He did believe it, seriously. Until the day he died. Plus he really wasn't cruel, he wouldn't have said it for spite to a ten year old even if he had some angst against NASA.

QUOTE: Please don't think I am saying this to be cruel, obviously I never knew your uncle but as a general notion it struck me as plausible but I'll understand if you tell me where I can shove it.
Blackstar - (sorry, I can't figure out how to do the quote box thing) you have every right to your opinion and I didn't take this offensively. Are you sure you didn't know my Uncle? Sounds like him. Not really just, kidding.
laurel - good enough. But on Apollo 11, did these guys really know for certain that the film would be safe and not overexposed on the moon by radiation or whatever was there?

Thank you for the posts and the welcome. Reasonable answers. Common sense. I still can not for the life of me figure out why a Col in the Air force would say something like that. There must be something to it. Some bit of truth mixed in with fiction, perhaps?

Okay. My first post - anywhere on the Internet. By way of introduction I live in Hollywood, CA USA. My profession is writer/director/DP
That out the way - the discussion:
I was recently asked by a well known producer to write a screenplay where one of the characters is a "hoax nut." Those are the Producer's words, not mine. So please don't be angry at me.
I thought of something very simple - Man did not walk on the moon. Why did I think of that?
A funny thing happened to me when I was ten years old, summer of 1972. I was fishing with my Uncle in Tennessee for rainbow trout. On that day, for some reason, in 1972, my Uncle turned to me and said quite matter of fact - "Man never went to the moon."
What did he just say? Why on this Earth would a Col in the US Air force tell his ten year old nephew a statement like that? To kill my dreams of ever becoming an Astronaut?
Think about that for a moment. My father at the time was a Major in the US Air force and worked in SIGINT back then. But he was overseas and i had to wait six months for him to re-assure me that man did indeed go to the moon.
Okay - that still haunted me even as an adult. I asked my Uncle in 1984 (two years before he passed away) why did he say that to me when I was just ten years old? And he told some incredible tale - which he claimed was true:
He told me that the Apollo Astronauts had a facility set up somewhere in the Western US (wouldn't say where though) where they practiced all of the things they were going to do once there. He claims to have been there many times. In fact, he did have pictures with many of these guys, I did see those. And he said that all the photos were taken in this facility while these guys were training. He said he didn't believe that man went to the moon because those photos were the ones given out to the public. I asked him why? He said because NASA was unsure if the film or the transmissions would not make it back to Earth, they needed the people to see the evidence.
What?
That's why he believed man never set foot on the moon.
For the record, I believe man did make it to the moon. However, this was compelling. I forgot pretty much about that until recently when I was hired for this writing task. Off to the web to do research. For the past two months, I have been everywhere, pretty much seen it all. Quite frankly, I was shocked.
This guy in Australia has done a lot of work trying to convince people that man didn't really walk on the moon. All of you know him and you have referenced him here in your posts, as well as the others I have researched. Some of his speculation is well...interesting, Hmm.
Anyway, now for the question. Do any of you believe that it was a possibility that these photos were indeed taken before hand as a measure for back-up purposes?
If so, and some of the photos were mixed with the real ones - because I will admit to seeing some strange things in some of them, that even I can't explain, then isn't this a reason for all the hoax believers to continue forward with their claims? Maybe this really did happen? I don't know, I'm just saying what I was told. Interesting board, I liked reading through all the posts and visiting some of your websites. Keep it up.
