I'm unfamiliar with Rogan. What is he infamous for? Luckly you. Rogan is or was the host of the show Fear Factor and apparently is on the Ultimate Fight show as well. He got his start as a stand up comedian. He is generally know for being outspoken and making unfounded accusations. As to his woo woo stuff. From Wikipedia

Didn't he debate the Bad Astronomer about the Apollo Hoax a year or so ago? I listened to that. The BA did not do well. Like many academics Plait came to the discussion with the idea that it was a discussion. Rogan was there to spew garbage and change horses when he got bogged down in his own filth. It started when the BA took the bait and got into a discussion about the importance of von Braun being a former NAZI. The lesson was that you shouldn't engage Rogan's type in a civil debate that assumes they are there to be reasonable. It just gives them credibility they don't deserve. Rogan would be eaten alive if he were posting here or at BAUT but in a 15 minute radio format a professional BSer, like Rogan, can take most of us apart.

I hadn't heard the psychedelics part. That's . . . crazy talk.

I hadn't heard the psychedelics part. That's . . . crazy talk. Yep, that and the talk about orcas not attacking humans since 1947 because they were attacked by planes (how exactly did they know that they were being controlled by humans?) suggests that he has been "connecting with reality" (or rather pretty much the exact opposite) rather more than is good for him.

The amazing thing to me is that people believe that sort of thing.

I think Harlan Ellison (I believe) put it best ...
The two most abundant elements in the universe are Hydrogen and Stupidity.

The problem is that with so many people listening to radio shows and watching TV shows where the loudest, most aggressive voices win out reasoned argument doesn't stand a chance...

The problem is that with so many people listening to radio shows and watching TV shows where the loudest, most aggressive voices win out reasoned argument doesn't stand a chance... And that's pretty much what happened in the Rogan/Plait "debate". Joe was louder and more aggressive than Phil, so to the uninformed observer, Joe won. Never mind that Phil had all the facts on his side. Debates in that type of forum are usually scored according to perception rather than substance.

This is one of my favourite Jack White errors:
Someone on the EF Forum photographed a shop-bought model astronaut in their living room to test a principle of lighting. Even a cursory look at the photos showed the small scale of the astronaut - with carpet, sofa, and a door in the background. But Jack White, master photo-analyst, couldn't see it. Instead, while others responded to the study, he mistook the model astronaut for a life-sized spacesuit (as only he would) and suggested the test was being conducted by someone with suspicious connections to NASA – otherwise how did they get hold of the spacesuit?

I think Jack is now suffering either Alzheimers or dementia. He's lost the plot in a big way.

Do you have a link to that thread on the EF Forum? I'd love to see that.

My favorite part... "Did NASA booboo when they said Lunar Modules were left behind?"
Ummm, NASA never stated that LMs were left behind, Mr. White. They did, however, state that Lunar LANDERS were left behind. You know, the DESCENT STAGES???
It's not just Jacke, it's all of them... they continue to embarass themselves each time they report "new evidence of fraud". Way to go, Jack. Way to further your hoax cause, there mister.
The following instructions will help you (and the remainder of your ilk) the next time you decide to speak:
1) Open mouth 2) Insert foot

I have been lurking every few hours or so, checking out the thread. No reply from Mr. White as of yet. I beleive the legs on the Soviet LK lander WERE basically just landing gear, but I highly doubt Jack White is confusing it with the Lunar Module lander.
