OK, thanks for all the help. You confirmed what I thought but it helps to see it from others.
(someone else from the site sent the author of the paper, Geoffrey A. Landis, an e-mail hoping to clarify his remarks. so I'll let you know if there's any reply)
Another request. There is a website where one of the posters from either here or BA produced some 3D images demonstrating Apollo's TLI in relation to the VA Belts. I'm not talking about Bob Braeunig's amazing site. This one was more graphically inclined.
Any ideas?

Rodin, shouldn't you have worked all these issues out and familiarized yourself with the process prior to proclaiming Apollo a hoax based on your "analysis"?

Jay, could you please expand on the term "quiescent proton flux"?
(as an aside, only an engineer could come up with the term "ruthlessly anisotropic")

A little off topic, but I love this line from poster Brucel in that thread "can you imagine the heat temperature inside the LM, or the amount of antifree [sic] one would need to keep its engine running cool not to mention the dangerous nature of having astronauts seating inches away from burning liquid nitro ... "
LOL!!! I hate to admit it, but sometimes after having a bad day, one of the best ways to relieve tension is to read some of the rambling drivel they post and have a good laugh! Seriously... Where does one come up with such nonsense?? Don't know, but shuuuurrr is fun'ah!!! Well, this is waaaaaaay off topic, but it has become my favorite post showing that, just because someone posts as an authority on the internet, you just can't trust them. This was an anti-fluoridation thread over at ATS (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread541785/pg4#pid9385091) and the statement made is just priceless: I guess because my background is mostly biology and chemistry, instead of engineering and physics, but that really got me going. It was extremely hard to maintain any semblance of decorum responding. Again, sorry for the derail.

I think you mean inconsistent. Or uni-directional, yes? You are correct. That statement is inconsistent with know NASA contingency plans (that were, to be honest, less than a-finger-in-a-dike). So I'm wondering if the flux in directions other than the direction of the sun would somehow be less energetic.

From this webpage (http://www.islandone.org/Settlements/MagShield.html):
I don't quite understand this statement. What, specifically, is "omnidirectional". The protons from the solar event (at least the most energetic ones, assuming a large event) should be in the direction of the sun.
Any ideas?

I never did get the chance to point out that he was so willing to believe this "scientist" quoted in a newspaper article on the interpretation of some photographs, yet he is also more than happy to ignore practically every relevant materials scientist and engineer on what happened on 9-11.

Careful, Tom. Quoting yourself like that might confuse him. ;-) You know, as anxious as he was to "discuss" and "ask questions" about the lunar reflectors, he didn't discuss or ask much. Especially after explicitly stating in post 374: he then went on to respond to everything OTHER than reflectors. I asked over and over for his input, and his responses were always along the line of "you talkin' to ME?" Yikes.

Still waiting to see what it is you want to discuss...... You still have a problem with an open discussion and answering peoples questions? NO!
