Hmmm, the antichrist hasn't shown up yet. I guess it's still fairly early in the day here.

On June 6th, 2006 the future world leader, aka the antichrist, aka the son of perdition will be revealed to the worldWell you know, Rusty sort of got this one right. The new version of The Omen a film about "The Antichrist" will be released worldwide on June 6th, 2006. I guess that this just proves that Rusty really did take Hollywood too seriously. Of course, it’s 6-6-6. I have a hard time believing any real antichrist would do anything so trite and predictable.

OK Its fess up time. I, Echnaton am really the antichrist. I wanted you, my friends here, to be the first to know. Now every one bow down and worship me, or better yet send all your money to its true master, me. If you do that you will be spared the trials to come on the earth that will only affect those that love their money more than me. My PayPal account is waiting for my true believers to submit or even those that just want to hedge their bets.
Yours truly,
The Son of Perdition

(sound of crickets chirping) Oi, go easy! I'm a big Buddy Holly fan. Sometimes I cringed at the thought that Rusty is another Kiwi, but at least he stopped us New Zealanders raising our eyebrows and saying (as the rest of the world so often does) of his type, "Only in America..." ;D

A major celebrity loved by millions dying...Steve Irwin of course! But yes, some predictions have not come true. They came from more than one source. The antichrist date prediction came from someone called Stephen Hanson who it now appears is false. He also predicted Osama would be captured before the end of 2004. This didn't come true either. Well, glad that's cleared up. The Chinese are still hiding underground however, and B*sh's ass*ssin*tion is still on the cards. (Asterixes used to avoid government scanning). BTWm see my new thread on predictions at apollohoax.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=paranormal&action=display&thread=1160893223Note to moderator: Do you think this thread should be moved to "Beyond Belief"?

Rusty, I seem to recall that you gave predictions for the Chinese invasion and the Bush assassination by the end of 2005. (I've looked in the archive but can't find the posts.) I also seem to recall that you said if neither happened by the end of '05 you would acknowledge they are bogus. Now you are saying these predictions still hold.
Does anyone else remember exactly what was said? I believe Rusty is going back on his agreement, but I need corroboration.
Rusty, I ask you again: What would it take for you to acknowledge, unambiguously and with no takebacks, that these prophets and seers and predicters are simply making this stuff up, whether or not they really believe it? I've already given a clear example of what would make me believe them.
BTW, I must have missed the plague that started in Georgia and killed thousands last year, or the nuclear attacks on four American cities and the retaliatory nuclear attacks on three Russian cities. Yes, you cited those predictions for 2005.

I have some late in the game predictions:
At the end of 2006, it will become 2007.
Bill O'Reilly will still spend 23 minutes of his 30 minute show plugging his endless plethora of worthless merchandise. "Nothing says happy father's day like an O'Relly Factor hat and golf ball!"
Something will happen.....somewhere!
Some dude will find $100 in the street and use it to buy beer
None of my favorite bands will be playing in my town
On December 17, at exactly 3:33:33, a bird will eat a bug.
Bin Laden will be definitively declared either dead or still alive. Or maybe not. Details will be fuzzy.
Some black kid will go missing. The media won't care.
How do you like them apples, fate?

But yes, some predictions have not come true. They came from more than one source.
Let's have a look.... Obviously with a month and a half there is still time for some.
1.Mt St. Helens & Alaska Volcano erupt
Not Yet. There has been a litle activity, but that's been happening since last year so no real change.
2. 2006 will go down as the warmest year on record even warmer then 2005 however there will still be denial about global warming.
This is likely, but since records show that currently each year is warmer than the previous, it's almost a given based on the data
3. There will be continual disruptions in weather patterns and cycles world wide.
This has no real meaning. What are considered "continual disruptions in weather patterns"? Nothing really major and out of the ordinary happened, but one can always point to isolated event to claim it as correct.
4. The Hurricane season wil get off to a early start and last longer and will be worse then the 2005 season it just as bad for the Gulf but with a twist there will be equal destruction on the East Coast.
Totally wrong, this year has been pretty quiet on the Hurricane scene, I'm not sure but I don't think the US has been hit at all this year.
5. Drought conditions continue in Texas and the South West .
Given the current climate this would be unsurprising, but someone with more knowledge of the area will have to comfirm it. Though to me it's a little like saying, the Sahara will still be dry and dusty.
6. A terrorist act on US soil in 2006 will result in a attack on Iran.
Still possible, but not yet.
7. Outed politicans from a corruptian scandal from early 2006 will turn information over that will be used to investigate matters of the current administration. But it will be to little to late the outed ones will go to jail and the matters will go unheard in the public eye.
Nope.
8. Repuplicans will win 2006 mid term elections as democrats still can not find footing in matters in security and poilcy they blew it. Looking like it'll be wrong
Looking totally wrong, the Dem's are leading in the polls currently
9.Patriot act will become perm legislation in 2006
I'm not up with US Law but I haven't heard so.
10. Allito will be confirmed to the Supreme Court
I believe that he means Alito, and this was pretty much a given considering his support in 2005 when nominated.
11. At least one more opening maybe 2 more openings to the Supreme Court this will be because of issue perhaps bias or corruption to corp or buisness that 1 or 2 step down and quit.
Not Yet.
12. The economy in the early part of 2006 continues to move along however at the same time debt is also mounting at record amounts. Payback time is comming. In the second half of 2006 during the Hurricane season is when the down turn happens it will seem it is because of the storms but it is not, it is because we are over spent .
Well the US debt is getting bigger, not that this is a surprise. The rest is wrong.
13.The housing bubble burst
Rather vaugh. Where will it burst? Australia's seems to have reach a peak, and here, don't know about the US.
14. Because of bankruptcy laws and minimal credit card payments and inflation consumers find the noose tightning around thier necks suicide rates soar as does divorce and abuse
Not Yet
15. Mexico turns Socialist at the shock of America as Fox is voted out
Well, firstly President Vicente Fox was unable to stand again so he wasn't voted out. (Presidential Terms are set by the 1917 Mexico Consitution.) Second, the Socialist Candidate got a whooping 2.7% of the vote, so I think we can say WRONG!!
16. Oil companies profit continue to soar in 2006 as American demmand answers and get none.
Profits increasing is pretty predictable give recent trends. Haven't seen the US commenting though.
17. Fuel prices soar to all time records during a bad hurricane season the storms will be blamed but they are not at fault.
Actually they have been dropping. So much so OPEC is considering reducing production to keep them up.
18. Healthcare will continue to soar in price and Americans will be forced to make choices
Doesn't really mean much. I suspect the general trend in US Heath care is increasing costs.
19. One of the Big 3 is going down for the count
Huh? What big three?
20. Because of a Union deal concerning health retirement a shakeup is comming in the UAW Unions will never be the same
I can't comment on this, don't know enough.
21.Guest workers become part of the American workforce taking the low paying jobs
Do know enough of the politics to comment.
22. China demands payment on some of the bonds it owns. When they do not get the money they take ownership in American companies operating in China causing a uproar at home.
Not Yet
23. New data suggest the ice caps will be melted even sooner then thought in 20 years maybe less perma frost will be gone and ocean will raise cloud cover is on the increase as is the overall temperature
Not sure as to this one, some one who's more up to date want to comment on the accuracy and if it was predictable?
24. Big shake up in the royal family in the UK perhaps the queen dies or perhaps someone is dishonorhed
Not Yet
25. Pope dies
Not Yet
26. No peace in the Middle East . Iraq will erupt in Civil War and Americans will be caught in the middle as troops numbers are dropped. We will be sitting targets because we withdrew to many numbers to soon and withdrew to much support to the troops that remained.
Well the first part was rather predictable since there hasn't been peace i the middile east for about 80 years. The second isn't happening yet. Interesting there was no mention of Lebanon.
27.Something odd will be seen worldwide it will not harm or hurt anyone but millions will witness it in the heavens. Perhaps it is a distant star exploding. It should be taken as a warning.
Nothing Yet
28. The earth will continue to be hit by asteroids and metorites leading some doom and gloomers to think the end is near.
Heh, they'd think that even if there weren't. I didn't note any hits by asteroids.
29. We will start to work to find soulitions to the problems facing us as a world as one perhaps hope for humanity after all.
Depends on who we is.
30. Technology and big brother continues making it's way into your life there is no backing down now
Far to general with no actual meaning.
31. A secret will be revealed a big one that will stun and shock the world and the world will never be the same
Not Yet.
32.Other reasons for going digital Hmm speculation can we really sell air this will be a uproar in other parts of the world over the sell of the analog network not so much in the US and may not happen in 2006 but more in the way of 2007 or 08.
If this is meaning Cellphones, the trend to Digital has been pretty steadyover the past five or more years. No surprises there. 33. Abramoff did he sell out the right people or just the people he wanted to this will be a scandal that will mar the 2006 elections.
Not Yet.
34. Someone very important will be gone . They touched many and will be missed Rather general
I wouldn't call Steve Urwin important. Still this could be used for a number of celb deaths including Aaron Spelling who's TV work probably eclipsed Steve Urwin by miles.
35 . More control of the internet is comming taxes and content control
Popular rumour still being rumoured.
36.Many lives will be lost at once in one place in 2006 it will be horrid and real and played out in real time on TV .
Haven't noticed it yet.
37. While testing a new weapon a accident happens it will effect the entire world NY
Well a test has affected most of the world, but it didn't have an accident involved. Interesting that North Korea testing a Nuke didn't make it to the list, I bet Iran testing one will make next year's.
38. Something goes real wrong while launching a rocket or sattelite or return of one it will effect many.
Hmmmm, Not Yet that I know of.
So how we doing? out of 38:
Outright Right - 0 Right but obvious - 11 Undecided - 19 Likely wrong - 2 Outright Wrong - 4
ambigous - 2
My prediction is that the 19 still to be decided will fall into the outright wrong pile meaning that only those rather general and likely based on the current trends predictions will have any merit.

On #5 - they have actually declared that we've had enough rain and snowfall this year that the drought in Utah, which lasted for 5 or 6 years, is now over. I'm not sure if Utah is considered part of the South West though.
On #13 the US housing market is indeed slowing in areas like Reno and Vegas, which were some of the hottest areas the year before, but the bubble overall has yet to burst.
On #16 there have been investigations into high gasoline prices in the US, including in Utah. Not really on oil prices, though - we understand why those are where they are (the two are linked but different).
Number 18 is so obvious as to be meaningless. Health care prices in the US have been going up every year for a long time now.
On Number 21 there was a push in the US for a guest worker program, but there's not likely to be one until at least after the election, so this one is probably wrong.
On Number 26 various pundits have been saying Iraq was tipping into civil war for 8 months now. The actual situation is complex, but I wouldn't call it a civil war yet.
I think Number 29 is too general to have any real meaning.
Number 34 is true every year.
