I have to go but it was on TV last week. If the Saturn was so great they'd still be using it, even if they don't go to the moon. And if Concorde was so fast, they'd still be flying it.

further proof of nasa's lies. nasa claims that 18 people went to the moon inside the rocket. Please tell me how 18 people could fit in a rocket tat is smaller than a girl? tell me you nasa apologizers!!! C'mon tofu, anyone can see that the Saturn V clearly isn't smaller than the girl. You're just yanking our chain.

Must...resist...urge...to...point...out... Freudian...implications...of...scene... Oh I know. That picture makes me feel really uncomfortable and inadequate. I mean, how can I possibly compete with that? Seven million pounds of thrust, pushing and pulsing - penetrating the sky and releasing its payload. The Saturn V is old school, it doesn't bother with strap-ons like those wimpy modern rockets.

I think we're going to want some verification on that. The shortest distance (great circle) between Toronto and Tokyo is (roughly) 10,600 km or (equally roughly) 6,500 miles. That means an average speed of 10,600 km/h or 6,500 m/h. But since it would have to move slower for takeoff and landing, and remain subsonic while over populated areas, its crusing speed would have to be faster.
Let's say that I am very skeptical of this claim.
edit to add: The only thing I can think of that could do this would be a sub-orbital hop, like Robert Heinlein's Antipodes Spacelines.

Wow, so they're building a plane that will do 2 or 3 times the current speed record, and it'll be a commercial airliner?
That's impressive.

Oh yeah I didn't even take into account takeoff and landing time. Damn that's gonna be one fast plane, can it achieve orbit?

OK, so we'll just move "Toronto to Tokyo in 1 hour" from the "List of Things MoonMan has Gotten Right" over to the "List of Things MoonMan Has Gotten Wrong" So let's see, the "Gotten Wrong" list is here: seaofcrisis.com/ext/babb/moonman.htmThe "Things MoonMan has Gotten Right" list is... 1. ...

That site needs updating. Did I ever tell you that on Nov. 11 2004 I predicted that a major 8+ quake would hit on Christmas day? It was boxing day here but Christmas day where it hit.

Allright, I'm simply not used to the rules of engagement here. Are we through with the "Delta is three times Saturn" bit of this thread?
