To take the question seriously for a moment, not contacting a tribe of hunter-gatherers seems problamatic to me. If you don't talk to them sure they avoid the problems of modern life, but they also lose out on the benefits. Really basic things like the benefits of sanitation and antibiotics, for instance.

It's not hard to find Americans who are "anti-American government", or even "anti-Traditional American Values". Most American hoaxers seem to be anti-government types too.

Well, offended or not, I don't like it when someone comes here with what appears to be a personal vendetta against someone else. And since I'm fairly certain that "rick" is a sock puppet of a previously banned member of the forum he's lucky I haven't already banned him. Yes, he does seem to be breaking the rules. And I did wonder if "Rick" had been here before.

"Lamanite" is a Mormon term typically referring to native americans.

I usually don't get offended by obvious trolls.
If someone other than Rick wants me to address the issue I will - probably in the Beyond Belief section of the forum, though.
I will note that every Mormon I know (and that's quite a few) believes the moon landings were authentic.

Put yourself in the cockpit of a helicopter for a moment. You recieve a report that cars are being motared on a road near you and that the nearest ground units are an hour away so you need to respond. Heading to the area you spot the motar team preparing to fire, but when they hear your approach they stand up, drop their weapons and put their hands in the air. You check your fuel, you have enough fuel to stay in tharea for another 30 mins and stull get back to base. Your gunner is warning you that there may be other enemy units in the area and that hovering here you are a sitting duck. What do you do? Not so black and white now is it? You don't know if landing and exiting the aircraft will put yourself and your gunner is danger and risk losing a multi-million dollar high-tech and deadly aircraft to the enemy. You do know that you can't stay where you are and wait for ground troops to arrive, and if you leave, you know that innocent people on the road will start coming under attack again. So what exactly do you do? An excellent example. Really, the most responsible thing to do is fire on them. There is no way to capture them and no way to gaurantee that they won't immediately go back to what they were doing (shelling civilians) if you leave.

But what did the Americans who deported him to Syria for interrogation think was going to happen? Did they think that the Syrians would ask him polite questions? I think they recognized that he was a Syrian citizen, and that Canada apparently didn't want him (he was a Canadian citizen too), so deporting him to Syria was the legal thing to do if we weren't going to hold him as an enemy combatant. So you're okay using them on someone who is an obvious terrorist, but not so much on someone who's guilt is in more doubt? But we know that KSM did reveal authentic and useful information.

If Maher Arar was tortured then he was tortured in Syria by Syrians. Nobody is being electrocuted in Guantanamo.

Methods like waterboarding and sleep deprivation worked on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Let me rephrase. You have a legible copy of these orders? Where I can read the whole thing and get an idea of the context?

we all recall Abou Ghraib's prison were orders were given for abuse. USA didn't interfere until it was on media and everyone new about it. You have a copy of these orders?

the whole world was speaking about the documents and the crimes that the US covered up and committed and you dare tell people that they don't have credible sources... Forgive me for saying so, but the "whole world" is fairly gullible then. The record of the US in avoiding unnecessary civilian deaths in wartime is better than any other country I can think of through most of history, and we have a better record of dealing with war crimes by our own soldiers than anyone else as well. Just because perfection is impossible is no reason to condemn us. Our loudest critics seem to be citizens of the governments that would do far worse in the same conditions.

I haven't noticed any Insurgents being tried over the murder of civilians, rather they get props from their fellow killers. Or three squares a day, access to the Koran and worship services, excellent dental and medical care, and free association with their friends in Guantanamo.

Oh, and if you want to compare how the US treats journalists to how the terrorists treat journalists, you have only to look at the case of Daniel Pearl.
