Well, let's all hope that Apollo didn't happen, as I'm sure you would all be as nauseated as I would if America's first mission to the moon was masterminded by a Nazi war criminal responsible for the mass slaughter of civilians, who should have been hanged at Nuremburg...... That's ridiculous. After the London Blitz and the Battle Of Britain, the gloves were off for all sides in regards to bombing civilian targets. Using your logic, the designers of bombers like the B-17, B-29, He-111, Lancaster etc. etc. would be war criminals, too. In any case, whether he was a war criminal or not doesn't change the fact the Apollo landings actually took place.

It's not a case of being "in on the hoax". I am sure they genuinely believe in what they are saying, just as those who persecuted "witches" in Salem did in the late 1600s. The Salem witchcraft hysteria is probably the closest thing in history to moon-landing-belief hysteria, but in the end, the truth outed, and it will about the Apollo moon-faking too. Say what? If anything resembles the paranoid irrationality of those 17th century witch hunters, it's the HB community's tenacious ability to hold onto and believe in the "evidence" of an Apollo hoax, even after these theories and "proofs" have been shown to be incorrect; time and time and time again.

I believed for over 30 years that we did land on the moon and it is only the weight of evidence I have seen that convinced me that I was wrong. You can hardly say I have a closed mind. I will continue to look objectively at any site to which I am directed by forum members, but none I have seen so far comes within a million miles of being "proof" I can't imagine what would ever be proof enough for you.

I believe the Dark Lord Kaysing is sincere, if obstinate in his old age, in what he says He won't be saying much anymore because he died earlier this year. So sad, especially with his crusade unfinished I'm just curious, has anyone tried blaming his death on NASA, the CIA, etc.?

Another good Simpsons quote, is there no situation that a Simpsons or Futurama quote can not be used for? Matt Groening has provided the world a valuable supply of witty remarks for all time. Doh! Howw can you say such a thing...ohhh, you have beer *belch*

Well flying discs do have a major niche... As sporting entertainment of an athletic variety, Wham-O's made a zillion bucks off the Frisbee...of course we're talking a hand flung object which, IIRC's weight, is circa 80-160 grams (depending on the model). But does anyone want to fly a vehicle that spins at high revolutions like a Frisbee does anyway? Talk about dizzie ...not to mention making it work on a large scale. I'm no engineer or designer, THAT'S for sure, but just try flying a Frisbee with no spin...a knuckle saucer if you will (edit for foreign friends: in in American baseball there is a pitch with no spin, called a knuckle ball...much easier to to do with a near perfect sphere than any sort of disc...though the practitioners are few and far between)...as Eric Idle once said "say no more, say no more, a nod's as good as a wink"

My friend's "big baby" Pitbull resents that remark...though I suspect a violent altercation with him in her presence might end up with a few chunks of Homo Sapiens (a.k.a. long pork) meat in her diet

M1A2, Leopard 2, Challenger 2, LeClair, anything with a fully stabilized, computer assisted BIG gun, and modern layered armor, designed for crew survival.
For "classic" tanks? it's gotta be the Panther.
The most succesful tank of all time is probably the T-34/76 (then again, that's what the Panther was designed to fight)

I'm basically a liberal/moderate democrat...strong on defense though...BUT the present plan is to run the defense down and refit...I'm absolutely convinced the Army Guard changed the VT Army Guard brigade from armor to light mobile infantry because they needed those Abrams tanks.

I have no qualms about it, but what do the true space experts here think about it, ie. was it about safety, was it about showing (or maybe more a real world test) ASAT capability? Was it a bit of both?

Stupid asses are stupid asses; marijuana, whiskey, beer, wine, too much coffee. Don't blame it on the drugs, blame it on the users (and frankly I have a hard time believing the weed smokers were the catalyst, well not unless they were double dipping with alcohol). Trouble makers will be trouble makers.

I'm not a scientist so I didn't know what the heck he was talking about. And this Newton guy, we're supposed to obey his laws? What are his credentials? ;D Hey, we have to, that's why we we slip and fall down when it's icy, or when we've had too many libations!

Probably there are a few people who were executed for a crime they didn't commit (not necessarily people who were innocent of any crime). Sparing an unfortunate few isn't enough of an argument for me to want to halt all executions. Jason, if you truly believe this I am convinced you don't really understand the basic rights we all have under the constitution. I have had been a stong proponent for the death penalty for most of my life, but all these cases that have come forth where at least reasonable doubt was ignored, or worse yet where it's obvious the convicted could not have commited the crime make me think capital punishment is not, at least as administered in these cases, justice in any sense of the word. I'd rather the worst rot in supermax the rest of their lives than another innocent person be put to death.

How can I bash Captian Kirk, T.J.Hooker, and the Priceline negotiator? (sorry, don't watch Boston Legal so I forget that name lol). He's a rare actor, someone so secure he's happy being a parody of himself. (in his public persona at least...and I'm pretty certain it's been quite lucrative) As one of his buds would say...ahem, sorry...live long and prosper Bill! \\// /
